Each morning, Ms. Chadwick starts with upbeat music and dancing on the way to the classroom. The teachers meet the students with a smile and a hug or high-fives at the door. Students have high expectations and learn routines that help them to feel organized and empowered.
As a second-grade teacher at a college preparatory academy, Ms. Chadwick's biggest goal this year is ensuring her students develop strong foundational literacy and organizational skills early on. This year, the campus is implementing AVID strategies for the first time alongside the rigorous Amplify Texas Curriculum. AVID emphasizes organizational skills as a cornerstone for academic success.
