Daniel Cerda was nominated anonymously.
Mr. Cerda creates a classroom where every student feels respected, supported, and challenged to do their best. From the first day of school, he establishes clear expectations centered on kindness, responsibility, and teamwork. He builds strong relationships by getting to know his students, celebrating their successes, and encouraging them to learn from mistakes without fear of failure. Because he teaches at the Career and Technical Education, he emphasizes hands-on, real-world projects that allow students to collaborate, solve problems, and build confidence. His goal is for every student to leave his classroom believing they are capable of succeeding in school, college, and future careers.
As a Career and Technical Education teacher, his students learn best through hands-on experiences that mirror today's technology-driven workplace. Many of his students do not have access to these resources outside of school, so his classroom becomes their primary place to develop the technical and professional skills needed for future success. His goal is to create a more engaging, collaborative learning environment where students can focus on developing critical thinking, creativity, and career-ready skills rather than worrying about whether the necessary materials are available.
