Brittany Walker was nominated anonymously.

Ms. Walker creates a positive classroom environment by building strong relationships, setting high expectations, and ensuring every student feels safe, valued, and supported. As her school's PBIS Leader, she helps promote positive behavior strategies that foster respect, responsibility, and a strong sense of community throughout the school. She hopes to expand the academic and social-emotional resources available in her classroom, including hands-on learning materials, books, and positive behavior incentives that keep students engaged and motivated. She wants to create even more meaningful learning experiences, strengthen student achievement, and continue fostering a classroom where every child has the opportunity to grow, succeed, and feel confident in their abilities.

As a third-grade teacher in a Title I school, many of her students come to school facing challenges that extend beyond academics. Several have limited access to books, hands-on learning materials, technology, and basic classroom supplies, while others need additional support with reading, math, and social-emotional development. Despite these obstacles, her students are resilient and eager to learn, and they thrive when provided with the right resources and encouragement. Her goal is to provide engaging, hands-on resources that strengthen academic skills while also supporting students' emotional well-being. She plans to have small-group instruction, differentiated learning, and meaningful experiences that build confidence, independence, and a love for learning. Ms. Walker wants to create a classroom where students feel safe, supported, and valued, knowing they have the tools they need to succeed. By meeting both their academic and emotional needs, she hopes to help every student build the confidence and skills necessary to reach their full potential, both inside and outside the classroom.
