Brianna Zittlosen was nominated anonymously. 

In Ms. Zittlosen's classroom, she works to create a positive environment that respects everyone's quirks and differences. She and her students begin the school year with a lot of conversation on how unique they all are and how they have different needs. She and her students also talk about how each of them may need something different from her. When there is conflict in the classroom, she helps the students work through it together, not just simply apologize. She works to create opportunities for creative expression, laughter, and games. She also works to celebrate her students for their growth and for every little win they share with her. The physical environment is also designed to encourage positivity. Ms. Zittlosen has light covers to help calm students, a huge variety of seating so they can work comfortably, and a variety of comfort and fidget items. Her goal is for every student to want to be in her room every day.
