Music that Describes Ronnie

Ronnie Hepner was nominated by his colleague, Joe Kraft.

"When I moved from Georgia to Ohio after 21 years of teaching, I was excited to begin a new chapter but also anxious about the challenges of starting over. Although I was an experienced educator, this was my first year teaching elementary physical education, and I quickly realized there was so much to learn. From my very first days at Lake Cable Elementary, Ronnie Hepner became the mentor, encourager, and teammate every new teacher hopes to find," said Kraft.

Mr. Hepner consistently goes above and beyond to support not only his students but also his colleagues.

"He willingly shares lesson ideas, equipment, teaching strategies, and practical advice that have helped me grow into a more confident and effective elementary PE teacher. No question has ever been too small, and no request for help has ever been met with anything but patience, kindness, and encouragement," Kraft added.

What makes Mr. Hepner a true LifeChanger is that his impact extends far beyond one classroom. As the head wrestling coach at Jackson High School, he teaches young athletes the values of discipline, perseverance, and character. As an elementary PE teacher and educator who also serves students with special needs throughout Jackson Local Schools, he ensures every child has the opportunity to succeed, feel included, and develop confidence. His ability to connect with students of all ages and abilities is remarkable. He leads by example every single day. He is humble, dependable, and genuinely invested in the success of everyone around him. He celebrates others' accomplishments, offers encouragement during difficult moments, and fosters an environment where both students and fellow educators feel valued and supported.

"Personally, I can say that my transition to Ohio and into elementary PE would have been far more difficult without Ronnie's guidance. His mentorship gave me confidence when I doubted myself, his generosity made me feel welcomed in a new school district, and his friendship reminded me why education is such a rewarding profession. LifeChangers don't seek recognition. They simply make others' lives better through their actions. Ronnie Hepner embodies that spirit every day. He has changed my life as an educator, and he continues to change the lives of countless students, athletes, colleagues, and families throughout the Jackson Local School District. He is more than deserving of recognition as a LifeChanger of the Year," Kraft concluded.
