Jessica Springer was nominated by her family member, Kathleen Monahan.

For the past 21 years, Ms. Springer has dedicated her life to educating and inspiring children. Teaching is not simply her profession—it is her calling. Throughout her career, she has consistently gone above and beyond to ensure that every student feels valued, supported, and capable of achieving success.

Ms. Springer has spent her career teaching students and helping them reach advanced levels of academic achievement. Through differentiated instruction, enrichment opportunities, and a commitment to challenging each student at their individual level, she has inspired countless students to exceed expectations and develop a lifelong love of learning. Her students are encouraged not only to excel academically but also to become confident problem-solvers and leaders. 

At the same time, Ms. Springer has always been a passionate advocate for students with learning disabilities and those who struggle academically. She has an exceptional ability to recognize each child's strengths and build their confidence. Many students who once doubted their abilities have succeeded because she believed in them when they did not believe in themselves. She encourages all students to persevere, celebrate their progress, and recognize their own potential.

Beyond her work in the classroom, Ms. Springer has served as a mentor to new teachers and has taken on leadership roles within her schools. She willingly shares her expertise, supports colleagues, and contributes to school initiatives that strengthen educational opportunities for all students. Her professionalism and collaborative spirit have made her a respected leader among her peers.

What truly sets her apart is her unwavering commitment to meeting the needs of the whole child. She understands that students cannot focus on learning when their basic needs are unmet. Over the years, she has personally purchased eyeglasses for students whose families could not afford them, ensuring they could see the board, read their books, and fully participate in their education. She has also purchased school supplies for countless students so that no child would feel embarrassed or left behind because of financial hardship.

Ms. Springer's compassion extends beyond the classroom walls. She has worked to connect homeless students and families with essential resources, including free haircuts, hygiene products, clothing, and everyday living supplies. She believes every child deserves dignity, support, and the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their circumstances. Her actions have helped students feel valued, confident, and cared for during some of the most difficult times in their lives. 

One of the clearest examples of Ms. Springer's dedication is her commitment to supporting students outside of school. She regularly attends students' extracurricular activities, performances, competitions, and sporting events whenever possible. Her presence shows students that she cares about them as individuals, not just as learners in her classroom. These moments often strengthen the relationships that help students feel connected and supported.

The impact Ms. Springer has on her students often lasts far beyond a single school year. Many former students continue to keep in touch with her years after leaving her classroom. They return to visit, share their accomplishments, seek advice, and thank her for the role she played in their lives. These lasting relationships are a testament to the trust, encouragement, and genuine care she provides to every student she teaches. 

Throughout her 21-year career, Ms. Springer has demonstrated exceptional professionalism, kindness, integrity, and dedication. She has positively impacted the lives of thousands of students, not only through academic instruction but also through her compassion, generosity, and genuine concern for their well-being.

Even when faced with personal challenges, she remains steadfast in her commitment to her students. She models resilience, empathy, and perseverance—qualities that inspire both children and adults alike.
