Catherine Jenkins was nominated by a friend, Robert Marchewka.
"Catherine Jenkins embodies what the LifeChanger of the Year award was created to celebrate," said Marchewka.
Throughout her career, Ms. Jenkins has dedicated herself to supporting students during some of the most impressionable and emotionally complex years of their lives, ensuring they feel safe, supported, understood, and capable of success. At Bellamy Middle School, Ms. Jenkins serves as a special education team chair, helping students and families navigate academic, emotional, and developmental challenges during the critical middle school years. Her leadership reflects the school's commitment to creating a supportive environment where every child can grow academically and personally.
Ms. Jenkins advocates tirelessly for students, ensuring that each child receives not only appropriate educational support but also compassion, dignity, and encouragement. Before Bellamy, Ms. Jenkins worked in the Social-Emotional Learning program at Belchertown High School, where she helped students develop resilience, emotional awareness, and confidence during the often-difficult high school years. Earlier in her career with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families, she served vulnerable children and families facing significant life challenges, laying the foundation for advocacy and care that continues to define her work today.
"Catherine changes lives by helping young people believe they matter, especially when they need it most," said Marchewka.
