Mrs. Nguyen has served at Myers Elementary School since July 1997, and throughout her long career, she has remained unwavering in her commitment to her students. She treats every child with the same care and attention she gives her own family. She sets individualized goals for each student and works patiently and persistently to help them achieve success step by step. Understanding that every child comes from a unique background—often with personal or family challenges—she meets students where they are academically, emotionally, and socially, creating a supportive environment where they can thrive.

Her influence extends far beyond the classroom. Many of her students credit her encouragement with transforming their confidence, their attitude toward learning, and even their long-term aspirations. Mrs. Nguyen maintains strong communication with parents, providing consistent updates on both academic progress and social development, while always highlighting growth and offering support where needed. Her dedication ensures that every child feels seen, valued, and capable. Her positive presence enriches the entire school community. She fosters a collaborative and uplifting environment among staff, offering support, sharing ideas, and contributing meaningfully to school-wide initiatives. Her colleagues value her calm demeanor, optimism, and genuine willingness to help others succeed.

In addition to her classroom responsibilities, Mrs. Nguyen demonstrates remarkable leadership and service. She has served as a troop leader, guiding students across multiple levels, dedicating countless hours to developing programs that build leadership and confidence. She leads after-school programs to support students who are struggling academically and volunteers her Saturdays for the STEP UP program, helping students recover missed learning opportunities.

She is also deeply committed to cultural inclusion and education. Mrs. Nguyen organizes and teaches cultural dances and programs that celebrate Vietnamese, Asian, Hispanic, and other diverse traditions. Despite language barriers, she has taken the initiative to learn Spanish and actively participate in multicultural events, ensuring that all students feel represented and respected.

In her classroom, Mrs. Nguyen promotes research and presentations on different cultures and highlights influential figures who have made meaningful contributions to the world. She leads by example and is widely respected for her sound judgment, strong communication skills, and ability to bring people together. Mrs. Nguyen has served as a master teacher for many years, mentoring student teachers from the University of California, Riverside, and California State University, San Bernardino. Her influence extends even further, as former students often return years later to express gratitude for the lasting impact she has had on their lives.

Her professionalism and dedication to growth are equally impressive. Mrs. Nguyen holds a degree in Biological Science with a minor in Education, as well as a Master's degree in Education with a teaching credential and CLAD certification. She continues to pursue professional development opportunities and actively contributes to district initiatives, including serving on the Best Practices team. She has also worked as a bilingual translator and educator, supporting students and adults in achieving educational success, including helping individuals earn their GEDs.

She creates a classroom environment grounded in respect, structure, and compassion, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to succeed. Above all, her character defines her work.
