"I believe Mrs. Pease is a great candidate for the LifeChanger of the Year award because she has helped give many people life-changing opportunities and let them have the chance to have new experiences that have changed their whole way of seeing the world. An example of this is when she and some of her robotics students went to Japan as part of an 'EF Tours' trip during summer vacation. She shared various things parents said about their children, and how their actions and ways of thinking had improved. One of the parents said he had noticed improvements in his daughter's behavior. She was happier, said everything with a more positive mindset, was more organized, and gave more of herself when doing something. These are just some of the many changes Mrs. Pease has made to improve students' lives," said the nominator.
"She has also shared with us that around 99% of her past students who ask her for a recommendation letter when they are applying for a scholarship actually get it! Although she says she writes letters to students who had applied themselves when they were with her, their success in getting these scholarships is also due to her ability to show the greatest part of her students through her sincerity and her ways of teaching," said the nominator.
"Mrs. Pease is a great teacher; she is patient, comprehensive, and kind, with new and already experienced students in her STEM field. Personally, I have been strongly influenced by Mrs. Pease to pursue a career in the STEM field. When I first had her class in seventh grade, I already knew her a little because of my sister. Nonetheless, I had never been able to experience first-hand what it felt like to be in her class or how she taught. It was a little hard in the beginning because I didn't know anything about coding, building (engineering), careers in STEM, etc. Thankfully, I had good classmates and a good teacher to help me learn at my own pace. In her class, we learned many fun and interesting things, like hand embroidery, computer embroidery with the turtle stitch, making stickers, and 3D printing. I am very happy that Mrs. Pease won a prize for her outstanding teaching. She is truly an awesome and unique teacher," said the nominator.
