Allison Heaver was nominated by a parent of a student, Merri White. 

"Mrs. Heaver is the kind of educator who quietly changes lives in ways that extend far beyond the classroom. My son began Pre-K during one of the most emotionally complex times of his life. A sudden transition created confusion, emotional stress, and behavioral challenges as he tried to process significant changes at such a young age. Mrs. Heaver never allowed those challenges to define him. Instead of frustration, she responded with patience. Instead of discipline alone, she provided guidance, structure, and emotional tools. She created an environment where he felt safe, supported, and understood during a time when everything else in his world felt uncertain," said White.

"One of the most powerful examples of Mrs. Heaver's impact is something that followed my son home. During moments of frustration, he began using a technique he learned in her classroom called 'rainbow breaths.' He would close his eyes, raise his arms, and calmly regulate himself rather than react negatively. Watching a child carry emotional coping skills from the classroom into his home life is something I cannot fully put into words. That kind of influence is rare, and it is life-changing," said White.

"Mrs. Heaver's support did not stop with my son. She has also been a steady, professional, and compassionate presence for me as I navigate unique challenges in unfamiliar territory. Mrs. Heaver has communicated with clarity, kindness, and complete professionalism, never once showing frustration with the complexities of my situation. She has also taken the time to recognize and support my son's relationship with his older brother, who attends the same school, strengthening not only his academic experience, but his sense of family and belonging. My son adores Mrs. Heaver. He speaks about her constantly at home, and it is clear she has created a classroom environment filled with trust, encouragement, and genuine care," said White.

"She goes above and beyond in ways that may never be fully seen or recognized, but they are deeply felt by the families she impacts. Mrs. Heaver is more than a teacher. She is a steady presence during uncertain times, a source of emotional growth for her students, and a true example of what it means to be a LifeChanger," said White.
