No matter what, I always feel like I can talk to or email Mrs. Kiernan about anything, and she is always there to comfort me, which is true for everyone who knows her. I have learned so much from Mrs. Kiernan, both Latin and life-related," said the nominator.
Students are always saying hi to Mrs. Kiernan during passing periods, whether they had her or know of her from their friends. Along with teaching Latin 1, 2, 3, and Advanced Placement (AP), Mrs. Kiernan is also one of the administrators for Lead for Diversity at Freehold Township, where she creates a safe environment for all students while establishing an engaging space for the students involved. While being the only AP Latin teacher at Freehold Township, Mrs. Kiernan has had a number of students score a 3 or higher on one of the hardest AP exams. She is very enthusiastic about teaching Latin while making it fun and interactive for everyone. She is always reminding everyone how proud she is of them and makes everyone feel safe.

She believed in me when I didn't believe in myself, and always had confidence in me and my ability to succeed. Mrs. Kiernan is truly the most amazing teacher I have ever had, and no one is more deserving of this award," said the nominator.
My son really enjoys Mrs. K's class and has learned so much from her. She's a great teacher! You can tell how much she cares for her students and wants to see them succeed.
Meghan works in the receiving high school to which students in my Pre-K to eight attend. After identifying bullying at the high school level, Meghan worked with a group of students to visit all third and fourth grade classrooms across my district to create and deliver anti-bullying workshops. We are now in our second year of this project, and plan on continuing it for years to come. Meghan not only leads the high school students in the creation of the presentations, but also ensures that are age appropriate and cover the most relevant topics. She plans the field trips from the high school to the elementary schools and supervises the students across the three days it takes to deliver the program. Thanks to Meghan's efforts, these children engage with high school students and learn first hand the impact of bullying and how to be a positive role model for peers.
Meghan is one of the most genuinely caring and kind people I’ve met. And, to be honest, I don’t think we actually have ever met in person, which reflects the power of her selflessness! We are colleagues in different states but communicate regularly in an effort to support each other. She is giving, positive, gracious, and unrelenting in wanting what’s best for her family, friends, and colleagues. She absolutely deserves this recognition.
Mrs. K is such an amazing person and teacher! She genuinely cares about her students and it's so clear in the way she interacts with us. I don't know what I would've done without her to go to in my four years here, and I have never learned as much in another class as I have with her in Latin. So so endlessly gratefull!!!
Mrs. K is extremely deserving of LifeChanger of the Year because she has made a lasting impact on all of her students. Not only does she push us to do our best academically, but she also prioritizes our mental health. She has made her classroom a safe space for all of her students and is always there to support us in all aspects of our lives, besides just Latin. Mrs. Kiernan is an absolute inspiration. As a former student who had the pleasure of being in her class for two years, I am not surprised she has been nominated for this award. She was one of my favorite teachers in high school, and I have never forgotten her positive attitude to this day. I remember being so ecstatic as a senior to be her student takeover during my last month of school. Her genuine nature, as well as her nurturing soul, made me so eager and ready to learn. Her excitement to teach was always so infectious, but most importantly, she was always there for me when I needed her.
As someone who had struggled with my mental health throughout high school, having a faculty member whom I could reach out to was crucial; Mrs. Kiernan was always that person. It didn't matter that I was no longer in her class; I could come to her with any issue or success, and she would be an amazing support system. I'm so happy that after all these years, she continues to have an impact on her students and the people around her, which is a true testament to her character and why she should absolutely get this award.

Mrs Kiernan is one of the most impactful teachers out there. She creates a classroom where my classmates and I feel supported and seen, not just pushed to succeed academically. It’s clear everyday that Mrs. Kiernan cares about who we are as people, not just our grades, and that makes learning with her so much more meaningful.
Ms. Kiernan is such an amazing teacher. Not only does she include everyone in the class but she also makes sure that everyone is engaged in class. Out of all the classes I have this school year, Ms. Kiernan's is one of the only classes I actually pay attention in. Just being around her helps me make such an impact in my life that makes me so happy. When I see that I have Latin 3 on my schedule I get over excited. She has helped through sp much this year and make me grow as a Latin scholar.

Mrs.K is an amazing teacher who is not only great at teaching Latin, but also cares for her students and wants them all to do the best they can in all aspects of life. She is also a great advisor for many clubs including the Latin club where she helps to give members new perspectives on Latin and life in ancient Rome. Ms. K is super kind and understanding when it comes to balancing life with school and genuinely cares about the ups and downs in our life. I was in pit orchestra for my school's musical and the day of opening night I was on edge all day due to anxiety of not being able to perform my best since I still had parts I didn't fully know and I almost cried in class, she noticed I was freaking out, pulled me aside, made sure I was good and reassured me it was gonna go great, I had no family or friends coming that night but during intermission she found me and made sure I knew that the pit was doing great. If it wasn't for her I probably would have been freaking out during the performance too.
Mrs. K truly provides a welcoming and safe classroom like none I've ever been in, where I'm able to express myself and feel safe while also achieving great grades and learning so much.
