"Mr. Patacsil is one of the kindest individuals. He teaches with great passion, and that is passed on to his students. As an English teacher, he has been instrumental in preparing his students to succeed at the next level. As a theater teacher, he helps his students accomplish the unthinkable. He creates a space where kids without experience shine as if they were on Broadway. He helps his students find their talents and instills a confidence that allows them to soar. Mr. Patacsil is a hidden gem in East Los Angeles and one of the reasons Garfield High School is a special place," said Gonzalez.
