Through her leadership, students are empowered to believe in themselves, staff are supported to do their best work, and families feel genuinely welcomed as partners in the educational process.

During challenging moments, Ms. Rodríguez takes the time to listen deeply to students who need support. She is fully present, ensuring not to rush them or minimize their needs. She validates students' feelings, collaborates on a solution, and follows up later to ensure they are okay.

"Her care for her students is natural and intentional. I've seen this care firsthand," said Dent. "It showed me how powerful leadership can be when it’s rooted in empathy and genuine human connection."

Ms. Rodríguez values every human being, from the superintendent to the custodian. She treats every person with dignity and respect and leads by example. She will sweep floors, mop, and clean tables while still guiding multiple meetings throughout the day, never placing herself above others. Powerful yet humble, demanding yet loving, Ms. Rodríguez leads with impact and intention, serving others to better the community and beyond.
