Rocio Espinoza was nominated by her principal, Michael Santiago. 

Ms. Espinoza began her career at Stephen White Middle School during the 2019 school year and has since become an integral leader within the school community. She currently serves in multiple impactful roles, including English teacher, equitable grading and instruction lead, new teacher lead, ELA department chair, and expanded learning opportunities program tutor. Her dedication to students, colleagues, and instructional excellence is evident in all that she does.

Ms. Espinoza has a unique gift for engaging students in robust, standards-based, and highly rigorous learning experiences that consistently push student thinking and academic achievement. She challenges students to reach high expectations while ensuring instruction remains intentional, equitable, and accessible to all learners. At the same time, Ms. Espinoza intentionally cultivates a positive classroom culture grounded in respectful interactions between students and teachers. She fosters trust, collaboration, and a strong sense of belonging, creating an environment where students feel supported, valued, and challenged to succeed.
