Charlisa Turner was nominated by a colleague, Payton Chaffin.
Mrs. Turner has spent her entire life changing others' lives, and she does so with a grace and selflessness that are nothing short of extraordinary. She isn't just a devoted mother to her own children and stepchildren. She and her husband, Lucas, opened their hearts to adopt three babies simply because she saw a need and refused to look the other way. That's who she is, someone who steps in when others step back.
Her passion for helping doesn't stop at her family. Mrs. Turner saw children in her community struggling after the pandemic. Kids were falling behind academically, some without a clear path forward. She didn't wait for someone else to fix it. She founded Foundations School, a private, trade-focused school designed to give every child hope and a future. She built this school from the ground up because she believed these kids deserved more than just survival; they deserved purpose.
In just three years, Foundations has grown from 18 students to more than 50, serving children from kindergarten through 12th grade. These students aren't just catching up; they're thriving under a curriculum that meets and exceeds Idaho standards. Here's the most incredible part: Mrs. Turner has never taken a salary. Not once. Every ounce of her time, energy, and resources goes into making this school succeed. She sacrifices daily so these kids can dream bigger than their circumstances.

Charli has a rare gift, she sees strength in people long before they see it in themselves. Where others notice limits, she notices potential. Charlie is such a wonderful leader in our community and a mentor to all of the children in her circle of influence. I’m so grateful for the way she has been intentional in helping my daughters face difficulty with a positive attitude and integrity in their spirits.

Charli is such an amazing woman! I am a student at Foundations School. Whenever I speak with her, she always has some very insightful advice for me. She also is never afraid to tell me if I’m being a jerk, and if I need an attitude adjustment. She always pushes us to be the best version of ourselves. She definitely deserves this nomination.

Charli is a wonderful role model with a heart for change, growth and direction in our upcoming youth, she is coming along side people and pointing them to the Light, Jesus Christ! she has alway had a hudge heart for people and gives of herself where ever she can she is absolutely a shining beacon of hope! Charli is an amazing person..so caring, strong and inspirational.
