"As a friend and colleague, I can truly attest to the tireless effort and energy that Mrs. Yost puts into her students," said her nominator. "Mrs. Yost is dedicated to making the lives of her students better when they are in her classroom. The students arrive in her classroom daily to her smiling face at the door. She greets each student enthusiastically with a handshake, high five or a hug. When students are in her classroom, she is 110% committed to their learning."
Mrs. Yost is an advocate for student learning and strives to make sure that each student is receiving learning that is diversified to their needs. She brings a high degree of vitality and a refreshing pedagogy to her job. She incorporates technology into her classroom to enrich her students' learning experiences. Mrs. Yost is a great asset, not only in the class, but in the school as a whole.
Mrs. Yost takes great pride in providing parents with wonderful parent-teacher communication. She communicates daily with pictures, videos and written messages that showcase what the students are learning in her classroom. She has always made herself available to staff members as a mentor and is willing to help in any way she can for the betterment of the entire school. Mrs. Yost models a love of life-long learning by participating in courses to further her education as well as many professional development opportunities.
"Mrs. Yost may not know the impact that she has made on my professional and personal life, but she makes myself and others in her presence want to strive to do better and make a difference daily," said her nominator.
