Sara Head was nominated by her principal, Stephen Richardson.

Mrs. Head has helped in establishing the foundation of her campus by loving, serving and caring for every member of the Hackberry family. She has become a master teacher by developing strong relationships with students and parents and creating a positive fun classroom environment. She implements strong PLC's for planning with her team, has amazing instructional strategies utilized in the classroom, and grows every member of her team.

This school year, Mrs. Head is leading the way with implementing the House System at Hackberry, creating a positive family culture where everyone feels part of a team. This implementation has played the biggest role in developing a strong culture at HBE. She is a team lead, House Lead, and also leads the Lobo Zone, a new tutoring program for 3rd-5th graders.

Mrs. Head believes that "All of our Kids are all of our Kids," taking every kid and ensuring they reach their full potential, regardless of the difficulties or barriers they may have. She calls her students "her kids," and she has a special place in her heart for them.

"For these reasons and many more, I believe Sara Head is a LifeChanger in our community," said Richardson.

Sara puts her whole heart and soul into everything she does for her students. They are a part of her family and you can definitely see that with her interaction with them. Her willingness to give that extra effort is evident in all she does.

Worked with Sara at emsisd while she was a life skills teacher..we became great friends. She showed such compassion for her students and loved them as her own. As the school nurse, we worked closely together to help these kids have the best experience possible. She is an amazing teacher and an even more amazing person. I was blessed to be her colleague and even more blessed to be her friend. She always has that “new” teacher enthusiasm and dedication to her students. In my experience working with her, she also collaborates with other teachers to get the best results for her kids! 100% she gets my vote for the best teacher and person. She is an example of what a teacher is meant to be.
