Music that Describes Treva
Treva Eden was nominated by her friend, Valerie Padilla.
Ms. Eden has been a kindergarten/TK teacher for over 32 years. Throughout those years, she has touched many lives. Many people describe kindergarten teachers as kind and gentle, but Ms. Eden surpasses those words.
"She has the kindest, most gentle spirit I have ever had the pleasure of meeting," said Padilla. "I have have had the pleasure of working with her for five years. This past year, I have become her next door neighbor with adjoining classrooms. She teaches TK and I teach Kinder. Every day, I hear her greeting her students with the kindest words. Throughout the day, when things might start to get chaotic, I never hear her raise her voice, yet the students respond so well to her. It is her gentle spirit that guides her during the day, never letting her lose her patience. Instead, she teaches her students how to be kind to others."
Each year, the kindergarten teachers make sure that the office staff have evenly sorted Ms. Eden’s students. She works hard at teaching her students everything they need to know to be successful and ready for kindergarten.
"When I say she works hard every day, that's an understatement," said Padilla. "She arrives at school two hours before the students just to make sure all of her materials and activities are ready when the students arrive. This is in addition to the cart full of work she takes home at the end of the day. She also spends hours of her own time at the beginning of the year making sure her classroom is warm and inviting."
Ms. Eden is a true leader in the field of education. Many times, other schools send new or struggling teachers to come and visit her classroom. They observe her with amazement and gather new ideas to take back to their own classroom. She is also a leader in TK.
"When TK started in our district, one kindergarten teacher from each school was chosen to teach this new grade level. The principals were told to choose their very best teacher. There was no question who would be chosen from our school," said Padilla. "Now that her career is coming to an end, we are all sad to be losing such a wonderful human being at our school. However, we are all deeply grateful for being able to know such an outstanding teacher. I, for one, am so lucky to have found a friend with such a big heart."
Mrs. Eden is truly an amazing teacher. She talk to each one of her students with a very motherly voice and tone as if they are one of her own child. She is truly a life changer in the life and mind of every child that was taught by her.
Mrs. Treva is my role mother. She is wonderful and inspires me to be a teacher.

Mrs Eden is such a nice teacher. She is full of patience with her students. I have never seen her raise her voice to anyone. I see how with her soft, sweet voice she has full control of all her students. She is defenitly a life changer. ????

Amazing Teacher/Educator.......Great for students. One of my first visits on Evergreen's campus was to visit her room. She has good rapport with her students and has a kind spirit.
I have know Treva Eden for over twenty years. She has always been my "go to gal." She is supportive, positive, and kind. I consider myself fortunate to work with her at Evergreen. She makes the world a better place for kids.
I've known Treva for over 10 years and she is always willing to share her beautiful smile and words of encouragement.
Six years ago when I was moved to TK I had the blessing of getting to do some team planning time with Treva, she is always willing to share ideas, strategies and encouraging words. I take risks in my classroom because she pushed me and encouraged me to do so. I love her artistic ability and she pushed me to take risks and go with it. For example when I started teaching TK I was worried about my drawing and the ability to support student writing-- our little learners need pictures to guide their ideas and thoughts, my stick figures and rough sketches weren't going to be enough detail. Treva pointed me towards a drawing of animals posted in her class room-- they were all done using basic circles-- she said, "Look at the shapes within the item you are drawing and push yourself to try drawing it."
Those simple words have allowed me to create some amazing letter sound circle maps with and for my students.
Most recently a flamingo, a grumpy gorilla, a koala and iguana were taken on and they are identifiable.
Treva and I have worked together for 21 years. I have watched her Christian spirit carry over into her classroom. She provides a loving, caring, and peaceful environment for her students. Her consistent classroom routines and boundaries help her students to grow, and learn how to make good choices. I love the way she addresses them-with respect and kindness. I have witnessed parents hug her in appreciation and seek her out for advice on homework, behavior, and many other concerns. She works tirelessly every single day and always with a smile. Her previous students, now my 5th graders, praise Mrs. Eden for her hard work and effort. Treva has changed many lives over the course of 32 years. She loved every single student and every single student benefitted because they had Treva Eden as their teacher.
I work with Treva and I want to say she is an inspiration to me everyday. She is the type of person who makes your day better just because of her kind smile. Our school is very blessed to have such a dedicated teacher. She is the first one there every morning! She is always willing to help when needed or just lend a ear. Thank you Treva for being you!
When I was new to Evergreen, she went out of her way to be very welcoming to me, and it helped me feel at ease being at a new school. She is also very thoughtful of others when they are going through something hard or celebrating something special. She is a one of a kind person that makes the world a better place.

Mrs.Eden, you are such an amazing teacher to my Grandson Gabriel Ramirez , when my grandson Gabriel can come home and tell me that his teacher mrs.eden is his best buddie and pal and that he loves her , and Gabriel cries when ever Mrs.Eden is absent ,is telling me that Mrs. Eden holds a special place in my grandsons heart Mrs.Eden has taught my grandson to read ,write,count ,color,shapes,math ect,but most of all she taught him how to share and to love one another ??? we thank you Mrs.Eden from the bottom of our ??

I, too recommend Treva Eden for this award. Working with children in Transitional Kindergarten is such a challenge. Treva has demonstrated that a caring, experienced and loving teacher can make the difference in the futures of the children, parents and other teachers.
It is such a blessing and honor to know Mrs. Eden. She exemplifies the true meaning of what a teacher is.
Mrs Eden is the most caring, loving, patient person I know. Her caring ways, gentle heart, calm nature...It's what sets her apart from the others. She is genuine and true as they come.
She doesn't teach because it's "a job", she teaches because it's truly her life calling.
She teaches the children not only the tools they need to transition into kindergarten (which she is perfect for) but she teaches them goodness and kindness. She is truly worthy of this nomination.

I couldn't agree with Valarie more. Treva has to be the most gentle, kindest, giving, and loving person I have known. I have known her my entire life. She has the best out look on lfe. I have never seen or heard her say a harsh word to anyone, she finds the goodness in everyone. Treva goes above and beyond in her classroom with all her students. They love her! Treva goes the extra mile ever year when school starts to make her class room warm, fun, and inviting! You just can't find a better person inside and out than Treva Eden! I feel blessed to have her in my life.
I am excited for Treva for being nominated. She loves being a teacher. Valerie couldn't have described Treva any better. She is truly one of the gentlest, kindest people I know. She has an enormous heart and is always smiling. I love her dearly!
