Narda Lugo was nominated by her colleague of many years, Amy Marquez.
Mrs. Lugo was a classroom teacher before she became a school librarian. She is an outstanding educator who touches the lives of her students. Since becoming the school librarian at Henry Ford Elementary, she has incorporated so many community involvement projects. She has regular family literacy nights during which families are able to come after school to read together and participate in literacy activities. She incorporates robotics in her library lessons, showing all ages of students the basics of coding using cutting edge technology.
For Christmas, she invited Santa to drop off books for the Special Education Unit and the pre-K through second grade students at her campus. Her library provides opportunities for the students to participate in school wide and statewide competitions. She is currently preparing her 3rd-5th graders to participate in the Texas Bluebonnet Reading List as well as the district Battle of the Books. She has collaborated with the public library for library card sign up drives.
Mrs. Lugo has also received and applied for a variety of grants to provide more books and technology for her students at the library. She inspires her students to become life-long learners and to develop a love of reading.

Mrs. Lugo is very dedicated to her field. Ford Elementary has a tremendous asset with Mrs. Lugo in the Library. She is fun and engaging with her students. She always has a positive outlook and geared toward student success. A true life changer at Ford Elementary.

Mrs. Lugo is very much appreciated. She is always finding resources to enhance learning for all students. I teach bilingual students and she got a grant for bilingual books. My students are delighted and can't stop reading them. Wow! what a wonderful person you are Mrs. Lugo we all love you and are very blessed to have you at Ford.

Mrs.Lugo was my daughter’s 2nd grade teacher in 2011 , in the time I was a parent volunteer full time in Buckner elementary, and she was an amazing person with everyone , now she’s my second daughter’s librarian ,my daughter sometimes has bad mornings , like crying ??,and Mrs. Lugo always has the time to put a smile in my daughter’s face , she’s a magical and positive person . #1LibrarianEver #CarlosCarlettCarlySanchez????

Mrs Lugo is an amazing person and educator. I had the blessing of having her as a coworker and teacher to my son. She works great with kids and is always striving for the best for them.
