Tamar Boisrond was nominated by two family members, Sefu and Pierre Boisrond, as well as her friend, Jadesis Frame.

Ms. Boisrond has made an impact ever since she was little, when she taught her father to say and write his name after a sudden illness. She was relentless after that point and knew she wanted to teach. She wanted to instill in students her own desire to learn.

"Tamar made all the necessary sacrifices to accomplish such a goal," said Pierre. "She not only wants to assist the children in her charge, but she wants to help their parents, particularly those who are new to this country."

Ms. Boisrond is such a compassionate and loving person, always putting others before herself. She runs a group for at-risk girls. She mentors these girls and even takes them on college tours, including her alma mater, FAU. Ms. Boisrond is an influence who every young girl needs growing up. Her goal is to inspire kids and let them know that no matter where they come from, they can work hard and live your dreams, because it's all possible.

"Tamar has been a huge, positive influence in my life since birth. She was the perfect big sister who always showed me the ropes," said Sefu. "Even before she became a teacher at Hope Centennial Elementary School, she was always a teacher to me. Because of the invaluable life lessons she has instilled in me, I was able to attack all of my life's struggles with a good attitude and a steadfast approach."
