LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Graziela Scalabrin was nominated by her family member, Dhaval Chauhan. 

Mrs. Graziela “Grazi” Scalabrin is a LifeChanger because she doesn’t just teach, she transforms lives. Every student, teacher, and family who crosses her path feels her passion, her purpose, and her belief that education is a force for liberation. "Guided by Paulo Freire’s philosophy that education is the practice of freedom, Mrs. Grazi believes that through learning, we find our voice, our strength, and our power to change the world," said Chauhan.  As a teacher, she has always seen beyond grades and test scores, she sees the whole child. She creates classrooms filled with love, laughter, and belonging, where students are encouraged to lead, question, dream, and believe in themselves. Her heart for service and her unwavering belief in the potential of every child have ignited hope in students who once doubted their own brilliance.

Now, in her role as District English Coordinator, Mrs. Grazi’s impact reaches even further. She has breathed new life into the English department, empowering teachers with professional learning that inspires and uplifts. She has become a relentless advocate for literacy, ensuring that every student and every teacher has access to the joy and power of reading and writing. Through literacy nights, family workshops, and community outreach, she has united schools, families, and neighborhoods in a shared mission: to grow readers, thinkers, and leaders. "Mrs. Grazi embodies the heart of a LifeChanger, she leads with love, teaches with courage, and transforms education into an act of hope. Her work reminds us all that when you change one life, you truly change the world," Chauhan added.
