Music that Describes Ronald

Ronald Leidner was nominated anonymously.

Three words to describe Coach Leidner are godly, family, and selfless. Coach Leidner has consistently been a LifeChanger during his time at Ryan High School.

First and foremost, he lives his faith on and off the field. His commitment to strong values is consistent day in and day out. He honors his family, as well as the families of colleagues. His wife and kids are very important and consistently support his work with student-athletes. When colleagues and their families go through difficult times, Coach Leidner will cover for them, even if it means adjusting his schedule. He has done this multiple times over the past decade. Regardless of the situation, Coach Leidner is available when needed.

As an educator, he is selfless. An athletic trainer is committed to the health and safety of all student-athletes throughout the school year. His role requires him to be the first one in the building and the last one out, as he is responsible for taking care of the students. He ensures that all necessary equipment is loaded and transported to every event at all times. He ensures that a sufficient supply of materials is always available.

Coach Leidner not only provides first aid for student-athletes, but he also coaches other individuals involved in athletics (cheerleaders, band, etc.) He helps ensure that student-athletes and coaches stay hydrated and provides the necessary materials, such as braces and/or taping, for their safe participation in practice and/or games as needed. He is the first one on the field when an injury happens and stays with the athletes for the duration.

Coach Leidner is a mentor. He has a team of students who receive one-on-one leadership training as Student Trainers. They learn the basics of sports medicine, including injury prevention and recovery, as well as first aid, which can lead to career options after high school. School staff not involved in athletics can receive guidance on exercise, braces, and taping. He is continually available to all.

"No one knows how many students and families Coach Leidner has impacted over the years, but each family and student knows how he influenced them. They consider him a LifeChanger," said the nominator.

Coach Leidner exemplifies what it means to be a LifeChanger. His faith, commitment to family, and selfless dedication set the standard for what it means to care for others. Day in and day out, he puts students first—whether it’s tending to injuries on the field, mentoring student trainers, or supporting colleagues in times of need. He goes above and beyond to ensure the safety, growth, and success of everyone around him. His guidance extends far beyond athletics, preparing students for life both on and off the field. Families and staff alike know they can rely on him, and the countless students he’s impacted carry his lessons forward long after graduation. Coach Leidner’s unwavering dedication, quiet leadership, and genuine care make him not only an exceptional educator but a true role model. Ryan High School—and every life he touches—is better because of him.

Shortly after Ronnie Leidner arrived at Ryan, the head athletic trainer had some health issues which added to the responsibilities Ronnie already had. He took it all in stride and stepped up when needed. You never see him without a smile and a warm welcome. He works well with all students, athletes and non-athletes. With the coaches, faculty and staff he is a true team player, always willing to do what is asked of him and volunteering to help when he can.

I have known Ronnie for 14 years. He is a dedicated athletic trainer. He puts in long hours and is always upbeat and positive with student athletes, coaches and parents. Ronnie has made a difference in many people's lives by helping them when they were injured and then helping them return to the field/court in the shortest amount of time without risking further injury. He is a positive influence and well-rounded individual.

Coach Leidner epotimizes selfless service to all. He greets first, and provides sound preventative and recovery treatment to athletes. Safety has constantly been on his mind. Our family has benefitted from his selfless service when we were going through many difficult times. He personally took on additional duties to ensure our needs were met. He is the Coach parents pray their student athletes have.
