Year after year, she has consistently (and significantly) outperformed district schools, helping students reach and even exceed their potential.
Her ability to close learning gaps for struggling students while simultaneously challenging high-achieving students to reach new heights is remarkable. Her results speak for themselves. She has achieved 100% proficiency in Algebra for two out of the past three years, and last year, all middle school math students tested proficient, providing the school with a 100% proficiency rating in middle school Math! However, what is most rewarding is seeing how many of her students have developed a true love for math and how she has helped individual students make extraordinary academic gains.
In addition to her impressive professional accomplishments, Mrs. Romero is also a Spanish exchange teacher, which makes her success even more remarkable. She has accomplished all of this while assimilating into a new culture and helping her two sons excel academically and socially within the school community. From the very beginning, Mrs. Romero worked hard to demonstrate that despite being from another country, she could connect with students deeply and effectively, helping them achieve at their highest levels.
Her support for students extends far beyond the classroom. She shows tremendous care for their social and emotional well-being, even creating a club for boys that allows them to enjoy gaming in a safe, positive environment at school. Through this club, she not only promotes fun and friendship, but teaches essential lessons about internet safety, digital citizenship, and mutual respect.

Mrs. Romero is the best Math teacher I ever had. When I first came to seventh grade, I was struggling a lot with math, and she helped me a lot, offered support and thought the material in a way I could understand. Anyway, not exaggerating when I say best math teacher!
Honestly, Ms. Romero is a great teacher, and this can be seen in how our class last year got only 4s and 5s on the end-of-the-year math FAST. Without her help, I wouldn't have been able to get that perfect score on that FAST. She is a very amicable person who tries her best to make every kid understand the subject. It is not really common to find teachers who try their best to teach so the students have good grades. She always gave us a way to study or find more help with the things we didn't understand

Mrs. Romero is beyond incredible, even though she was a math teacher she still taught me things unrelated to math. I couldn’t be more thankful to have had her as a teacher. I was never really strong at math but she would always push me to keep going, and always was there to help. Thank you SO MUCH.
Ms.Romero has been a huge help in my life! For a while I always thought that I could only get a 3 on state tests. Then Ms.Romero stepped in to the picture and next thing you know I get a 4 on my state test. Truly grateful for her work and appreciate her!

I met Ruth in Spain and she has been the best teacher ever with my kids. When she left to Orlando, my kids were really sad about it but we keep in touch with her and although she is far away from them, she is still helping them. I don’t have enough words to describe this amazing teacher. She truly changes lives. I have witnessed the growth of her students: how they used to struggle before, and how, after she applied her knowledge, experience, and dedication, they became much more successful. I saw how math once provoked fear in them, but Ms. Romero, through her innovative methodology, transformed that fear into happiness and enjoyment for the subject. As a result, she has demonstrated how much her students have learned, as reflected in their outstanding state testing results. This clearly shows how these students overcame their fears and discovered how fascinating math can be.

Ms. Romero is an amazing math teacher!!!! I always understand what she's teaching because she is amazing at teaching and she is very kind and nice.
