Sir Norman has an excellent work ethic. He is approachable, willing to help his co-teachers, and possesses a welcoming personality. He is truly a team-oriented educator.
Sir Norman is not just my Grade 10 teacher—he’s the kind of teacher who makes you realize years later that he low-key changed your life. With his humor, patience, and way of making even the hardest lessons make sense, he turns everyday classes into moments that actually stick. He teaches more than just the syllabus; he teaches confidence, discipline, and how to believe in yourself (sometimes without you noticing). For the impact he’s had on me and so many others, Sir Norman truly deserves the Life Changer of the Year award.
Sir Norman had been my 10th Grade Social Studies Teacher and he has made me open up to wider horizons, especially on how to dress down and interpret many sociopolitical situations that has been happening around us and how these things affect many other people through recontextualising it through the lens of the common man. He helped me shape me being a linguistics student majoring in English as language is a part of how our society works. I always call back to his many lectures many years ago on how words and language are twisted through a particular documentary in relation to the suppression of Farmer's rights in Luzon and that lecture is what propelled and locked me in to this chosen profession, the interest of my academic researches, and course of life that I have found myself in. His contribution to the formation of how I think and analyse many situations cannot be overstated and I am very thankful to have been his student.
Teacher Norms has a pleasant aura about him. He builds rapport with his students quickly and enables a classroom atmosphere that builds trust and learning. More importantly, he has a unique talent for incorporating humor into his lessons--a skill most teachers aim for.
I think that he is a good teacher, speaks with confidence, and kind. My favorite teacher in the seventh grade. I like him as my social studies teacher and his English is well spoken.
Mr. Amerkhan consistently extends a helping hand to his fellow educators. An intelligent and thoughtful individual, he willingly uses his knowledge and skills to help others, demonstrating a strong spirit of service and collaboration. His openness, humility, and readiness to support those in need reflect admirable professionalism and character. Through these actions, he promotes trust, encourages teamwork, and contributes positively to a supportive and growth-oriented educational community.
Mr. Amerkhan is more than a teacher to us—he is a caring big brother whose warmth has touched many lives. He inspires us to be better students and members of society, motivating us even in the smallest ways. His life shows how discipline and love can coexist, and we are truly blessed to have him as both our teacher and big bro. As an educator, I truly see him as someone who is admirable both in the field and in the academe.
He is an awesome teacher and has a great personality, and he also loves anime which is also my favorite. He knows what he is doing very well and has a good way of making students laugh and stay engaged, which makes this my favorite class.
The teacher is more than just an educator, he is a mentor, motivator, and a role model. He is a very passionate teacher and role model. He's positive energy leadership and kindness greatly in the teaching community in the district.
He isa great teacher and an even better colleague and friend. He knows his subject extremely well and has a natural way of making students laugh and stay engaged, which makes learning enjoyable and meaningful
From an instructional standpoint, Mr. Amerkhan demonstrates a high level of professionalism. He communicates complex ideas with precision and adaptability, ensuring that students remain attentive and confident in their understanding. His teaching approach consistently promotes critical thinking while upholding rigorous academic standards.
On a personal level, his classes are both enriching and motivating. Students leave each session with a stronger grasp of the subject matter and a genuine sense of intellectual growth. His commitment to student development, combined with his supportive and engaging teaching style, makes him truly deserving of recognition.
Sir Norman was my colleague in RMUSD. He was always a source of laughter whenever we gather together. This is also reflected on how he made his students. He made sure that they learn and had a good time in his class. He inserts funny anecdotes related to his lesson so that kids continue to be interested in his class. We enjoyed his company but students enjoyed his class the most.
Mr. Amerkhan is a truly dedicated teacher who is relatable, compassionate and always takes the time to genuinely listen to his students. What sets him apart is his big heart, not only for teaching, but for going beyond the classroom to support and uplift his students in meaningful ways. He doesn’t just teach lessons, he changes lives.
He is one of a kind. My experience with him as his student stood out from the rest. I am still upset that I missed out on a face-to-face experience with him because of the pandemic. If I could turn back time, I would want him as my teacher again. He knows how to teach his lessons in a humorous way that we can understand and remember easily. I would say his personality, attitude, and behavior play the most vital role in why he is the epitome of a teacher. I have high respect for him. I honor him as a teacher. I admire him because being a teacher is a tough job and he does it with ease. I am grateful he pursued being one in a better country. He deserves everything good that comes to his life.
Sir Norman was one of the memorable teachers U had during high school, during the pandemic he made it more easy and memorable regardless of the limitations that the pandemic has made to teachers. He is kind, funny and he regularly interacts with his students and shares interests with them making closer relationships to his students. Personally it made my high school days somewhat bearable during the outbreak.
Mr. Amerkhan was one of the nicest teachers I had back in high school. He makes studying history bearable with his jokes. He's definitely one of those people who knows you by name even outside the campus.
Such wonderful and well- rounded educator. Kudos!
From the very first day of school, Sir was incredibly welcoming and kind. Even with the challenges of online learning, he always did his best to keep our spirits up and make us feel seen. His nickname for us, “nak,” may seem small, but it genuinely made us feel cared for and valued as students. His gentle and patient nature brought comfort during such a difficult time, and his teaching style—breaking lessons down so everyone could understand—made learning enjoyable and meaningful. He is the teacher who truly made my high school experience worth it, and he deserves recognition for the lasting impact he has on his students.

He had a gift for making complex lessons enjoyable and used his personal journey to motivate his students. His mentorship left a significant impression on my life, and I highly value the time I spent in his class. He changed my life.
Knows how to be in the shoes of his students and see their perspective not only on lessons but as well as in their current well-being. One of the few reknowned teachers who I know deserve this recognition.
A very kind and thoughtful man who has been through a tough time yet still manages.
Mr. Amerkhan truly embodies what it means to be a LifeChanger. His dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to his students inspire the entire school community. not only in learning, but also through his kindness, confidence, and personal growth.
Mr. Amerkhan has been a great teacher to the students through these two years he has taught at Arizona City Elementary School. My daughter was a student last year and has fond memories of Mr. Amerkhan. She really enjoyed his lessons and him as a teacher. My son is currently a student of Mr. Amerkhan and he also speaks very kindly of him. Says he is a cool teacher. Enjoys what he is being taught and how he is being taught. I enjoy walking by Mr. Amerkhans class and seeing the students engaged with the lesson. He sets the tone of the class and is willing to answer any questions the students present him with. He a great colleague and a good friend. He is well liked by the many students he has and the students that have gone off to other schools.
Thank you for your incredible impact during my high school years. Your outgoing energy made every class an engaging experience. You are a rare teacher who truly connects with students, listening to us and sharing essential life lessons. I deeply appreciate your dedication and am proud to have been one of your students."
Norman served as one of my core subject teachers during my tenure in high school. Among all my instructors and advisors, he stands out as the most exceptional educator I encountered throughout my secondary education.
I consistently looked forward to his lessons because he fostered a dynamic, interactive, and highly engaging learning environment. Furthermore, he distinguished himself through his remarkable patience and deep understanding when addressing student needs.
Crucially, his dedication transcended the typical role of a teacher; he viewed his students not merely as pupils, but as individuals deserving of respect and a supportive, paternal mentorship. I remain deeply grateful for his profound influence and guidance during my high school years.
Mr. Amerkahn is dedication to teaching. The genuine care he show for his students have made a lasting impact on their lives. Mr. Amerkhan is an amazing teacher and colleague because of his exceptional dedication, deep knowledge, and the genuine care he shows for each of his students. Mr. Amerkhan’s lessons are always well-planned, creative, and adapted to meet the needs of every learner in his classroom. His patience, encouragement, and commitment go far beyond the curriculum—he inspires his students not just to succeed academically, but to grow as individuals. It’s clear that Mr. Amerkhan doesn’t just teach—he makes a lasting impact.
Mr. Amerkhan is an outstanding social studies teacher who consistently keeps his students engaged and focused on learning. His classroom management skills are excellent—students are attentive, respectful, and on task without needing constant reminders. Every time I walk by his classroom, it is calm and productive, with students quietly working and participating in lessons. He creates a positive and effective learning environment where students thrive.
He is an excellent teacher, always attentive to the needs of his students. You can hear students use expressions like 'it's fun,' 'he is kind,' 'he has the gift of teaching.' As a colleague, he is a respectful, kind person and is always available to offer help. Without a doubt, a teacher with a vocation for service towards the institution and, above all, towards his students.
He is my teacher. He is very nice and funny. He teaches really good and makes everything understanding. He is pretty, beautiful and a good teacher.
Sir norman was my teacher back when i was in high school. He was one of the best teachers i’ve ever had, kind, funny, and genuinely passionate about helping his students learn. His classes were always something to look forward to because he made every lesson both clear and enjoyable. Thank you for everything sir! Goodluck and Godbless!
Mr. Amerkhan provides a kind, structured approach to teaching. He expects his students to do their part as students, which is focus on learning, while also allowing them to express themselves and learn from each other. He's been a positive addition to the school district.
Teacher Norman was my teacher back when I was in Grade 10. He was not only a teacher but also a close friend whom you could talk to about your problems, and he would always listen. He had a unique teaching style; rather than just focusing on lessons, he interacted with us to keep us engaged and make learning fun. He didn’t rely solely on books; he also did his own research and shared with us what he learned. Good luck, sir, on your journey, and God bless!
Sir Amerkhan was my teacher back then when I was in Year 10 (2017). He was that happy-go-lucky teacher that made the subject lively. I fondly remembered talking about history and the subject of wars and he made it very interactive. I wish him the best of luck! Thank you for everything, sir
I just want to take a moment to say how much I appreciate Teacher Norman during my high school years. He has such a special way of connecting with his students and not just as a teacher, but as someone who genuinely cares about who they are and what they need. His outgoing personality brings so much light and energy into the classroom; it makes learning feel less like a routine and more like an experience we all get to share together during his class. He would take the time to listen, to understand, and to share the class with life lessons that we can bring home by the end of the day. He celebrates our strengths, encourage us when we doubt ourselves, and remind us that every challenge is a step toward growth. It’s rare to find someone who can balance being both fun and deeply dedicated, but he does it so naturally. I am deeply grateful for him being on this road as a teacher, as I am also proud that I was one of his students.
Teacher Norman was one of the most warmest teachers I have ever had. He makes learning fun and enjoyable because of his natural ways to connect with his students. His smile is just contagious and instantly makes you feel comfortable. He was one of the teachers that had a big impact on me. From being curious of the world, to reaching what we have now - being young adults and figuring life out. Teacher Norman will always be one of the instructors that taught us of what to expect in life, and also reassured us that everything will be alright. Just like a “tatay” to us and his students as his “anaks.” Goodluck in this journey teach! We are so happy for you!
Teacher Norman was truly a remarkable teacher. He not only made education a priority, but he also ensured your growth in many aspects in life. During my time with him, he spread kidness, joy and most of all the presence of a friend within the classroom. I never felt the pressure that usually comes to most students when they are in school. He made it as though you want to consume more knowledge and be interested in the topic than most do. He makes every class interesting, fun, engaging while keeping it professional and balanced. As many of us do, i consider him one of my best teachers who truly made a difference. The impact that he left to the school, and the learners will never be forgotten. To the future learners of Teacher Norman all i can say is, your in good hands. Good Luck Teach!! Godbless!!
Teacher Norman was my teacher in the past, and I can honestly say he made a lasting impact on me. He’s not only knowledgeable and skilled, but also genuinely cares about his students’ growth. His lessons were engaging and meaningful, and he always took the time to ensure everyone felt supported. Referring to his students as "nak/anak", he treats his students as one of his own.
He often calls his students anak, a simple word that shows just how much he cares for each of us. Being a teacher is one of the most important roles in shaping future generations, and he truly embodies that. Good educators don’t just teach lessons, they nurture, guide, and inspire. Teacher Norman definitely did that for me. He didn’t just teach a subject; he made a difference in how I see learning and life.
I'm one of his students here in the Philippines. I was in highschool at the time and even if he was not out advisory teacher, still we were able to create a relationship with Teacher Norman because he would always approach us and ask us how our day went. I cannot forget the time when we were having a hard time with my bestfriend because we were accused of cutting class, Teacher Norman did not scold us but instead he prayed for us. That strucked me because normally, teachers would scold you but Teacher Norman comforted us, did not condemn us but instead he prayed. Since that day, I saw a teacher and a father in him that is why up until today, I call him "Papa" ??
One of my favorite teachers in high school was Teacher Norman. He wasn’t just a teacher to his students; he was also like a father. He treated us, his students, as his own children—children who had much to learn, not just academically, but also about the world beyond the classroom. I consider him one of my favorite teachers because he made learning fun. He was more than just a teacher to us.
To his future students, I hope you have a lot to learn. All the best, Teach! Know that your “anaks,” who are already chasing their dreams, miss you. Good luck and God bless you always! Truly, you deserve this award!
Teacher Norman was one of the most wholesome, effective, and comedic teachers during my high school years. Its been more than half a decade since the last class we shared but I can still remember the wonderful atmosphere that always comes up during his classes. One of the things he is remembered for is how good of a school father figure he was to every student of every class he came across. He used to call his students "anak", which means "child", wholeheartedly and his actions back up the warm words he utters. Students would approach him even for mistakes that felt too guilty to admit because we know that he would help and correct us gracefully. He has earned the respect of students even during hectic times. He knows how to project himself to the class to be taken seriously and catch everyone's attention. He manages to get everyone in the class to cooperate and be accountable of our own actions. In behalf of my batchmates, I can say that his intent of being a parent in campus was deeply felt. To say that he has left a positive impact to the lives of his student would be an understatement, he did not just teach us the syllabus, he taught us about life and cultivated us to be conscientious individuals. He guided us consistently of being better versions of ourselves and stood as an amazing parent figure especially for those students in need.
Teacher Norman is one of those teachers you’ll never forget. He taught our class so well and always made sure everyone understood the lessons. What made him truly special was his sense of humor — he’s such a natural comedian that he could turn even the most difficult topic into something fun and easy to learn. Because of him, learning never felt like a burden but an enjoyable experience we looked forward to every day.
Beyond being a great teacher, he’s also a genuine role model — patient, dedicated, and full of wisdom. He inspired us not just to study hard, but to be kind, confident, and passionate about what we do. Teacher Norman’s influence goes beyond the classroom, and his lessons in life and character will always stay with us. We’re lucky to have been one of his students!
Teacher Norman was my previous high school teacher and is by far one of the best teachers that I have ever met. Not only is he good at teaching, but also has a big heart and an inspiration to his students like me. As a student, I never felt pressured or anxious during his classes; instead, I felt light and comfortable because of the way he made learning enjoyable while ensuring we learned something new. I am very thankful to be one of his students and very certain that he truly deserves this nomination and to be recognized as an inspiring teacher, as well as earning the award.
7 years ago, I was lucky to have Mr. Amerkhan as my teacher in high school. If I could remember correctly, that was his first year of teaching coming out of graduation. He only taught me Social Studies for a year, but I will never forget the experiences I’ve had with him. He taught me tons of learnings and teachings not only on the subject matter but in life as well. I get to understand how we should thrive and hustle on our precious time here on Earth because Mr. Amerkhan showed us. He inspired me to become who I am today, and the one thing that I would never forget every time we see each other is to be happy, smile and have a positive attitude. His energy is so contagious, it would make your tears go away. Even when I went to senior high school, I would be ecstatic to just talk to him both personally and online because of the impact he made. I can assure you that I’m not the only person who felt his impact because he is beloved by everybody back in my day. A humbling guy, leads like a father, and is a respected human being who deserves nothing but praise. Up to this day, he is still one of my favorite teachers because his style of teaching makes me want to listen more. Keep doing what you're doing, Mr. Amerkhan, and maybe one day, our paths will cross once again. You deserve all that is coming to you in the future. Thank you for everything, Teacher Norman, and good luck.
Mr. Amerkhan was my previous teacher in High School. One of the best, I may add. Learning was enjoyable when he handles it, there was no time I felt sleepy. He does this while setting boundaries. I can say I have learned lots from him, and I can still remember his lessons which makes him a really great and inspiring teacher. Lucky are the students to have one of the best teachers out there. His impact is way just beyond a teacher but also a role figure.
All the best! Teacher Norman. I miss you and may our paths cross again maybe in the near future.
Even though I never had the privilege of having Mr. Amerkhan as my personal teacher, his presence alone made a lasting impact on me. The warmth he exudes, even toward students he never directly taught, reflects the genuine care and sense of home he brings to the entire school environment. It’s truly heartwarming to have a teacher who calls you “anak,” greets you with a contagious smile, and radiates positive energy every single day.
For some, these may seem like small gestures but for many students, especially those facing personal or family challenges, those moments of kindness can mean the world. Knowing that you’ll be met with warmth and encouragement from a teacher like Mr. Amerkhan can change one’s perspective, restore motivation, and remind you that school can be a safe and nurturing space. His simple yet powerful acts of compassion have undoubtedly created countless positive ripples in the lives of many students.
Teacher Norman was more than just an educator—he was a constant source of encouragement and light during my high school years. As my 10th-grade moderator, he played a big role in shaping who I am today. He had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued, no matter what challenges he was facing behind the scenes. Even when life tested him with hardships, he never allowed those struggles to dim his positivity. Instead, he poured his energy into uplifting his students, always reminding us to keep going and to believe in ourselves.
He made History and Social Studies come alive, turning lessons into meaningful conversations about real-world issues, culture, and the world around us. What made him stand out wasn’t just his teaching skill, but his heart—his genuine care for his students and his dedication to helping us grow as better learners and people. There was never a dull day in his class; he always found ways to make us smile, laugh, and learn something new about life.
Teacher Norman remains one of my favorite teachers because of how deeply he cared and how effortlessly he inspired. He went beyond the call of duty, becoming a mentor, a guide, and a father figure to many of us. His resilience and passion for teaching make him truly deserving of the Life Changer of the Year Award—a title that perfectly reflects the lasting impact he has made on the lives of his students, both past and present.
Teacher Norman is a remarkable teacher. He teaches from the heart and genuinely cares for his students’ wellbeing. He’s not just smart, he is also funny and really makes you feel comfortable in his class. He respects everyone and has good morals.
Teacher Norman was my former high school teacher. He explains things thoroughly and makes learning actually fun. His classes never feel boring because he always finds a way to keep everyone engaged and interested. You can really tell he cares about his students and loves what he does. I may not have remembered everything he taught me because it was years ago, but his teaching style will always be remarkable.
T. Norman was a colleague and he was a remarkable one. He kept the working environment agreeable in the midst of a tedious academic pressure on us teachers. He truly deserves this award.
Teacher Norman was one of the instructors who actually made a difference in my high school experience. Not only did he teach passionately, but he challenged us to think outside the classroom. He had faith in his students and challenged us to do our best, even when we did not have confidence in ourselves. His mentorship and kindness left an indelible mark on my life - well-deserving of the title "Lifechanger of the Year."!
I had the chance to work with Norman as his coordinator before, and I was also one of the people who wrote a recommendation for him. I’m truly proud of all that he has achieved. Just as I mentioned in my recommendation letter, I knew that Norman would make a lasting impact on his students, just as he did here. He didn’t just teach lessons; he inspired his students and made sure that the values and lessons from history were deeply ingrained in their hearts and minds. And of course, he’s naturally fun, too! So goodbye to boring history classes!
Sir Norman was truly the ideal teacher for me, especially as someone who experienced being an exchange student. It felt as though I was placed in his class for a reason—because God knew he could guide and support me through the challenges of adjustment and change. As a member of the LGBT community, I never once felt excluded or different under his care; he was always kind, respectful, and understanding. Even during difficult times, he still managed to make his students smile, showing strength and compassion despite his own struggles. His teaching reflected genuine passion—he created learning materials designed to help us understand lessons better and stay engaged in every topic he taught.
Teacher Norman was one of my subject teachers back in High School. To be honest, among my subject teachers (including advisers), he was the best teacher that I've encountered during my high school years. I was always looking forward to learn in his class because he made it fun, interactive, and engaging. In addition, he was always the 'most understanding' and the 'most patient' one among all the teachers. Most importantly, he does not only treat his students as just 'students', but he treats them just like his own sons and daughters. That is why, I am forever grateful to have him as my teacher and as a 'tatay (father)' during my high school years.
Teacher Norman is my teacher when I was in High school. He was great and very passionate, what’s amazing about him? You wouldn’t feel any judgement or dishonesty, he was just amazing.
Norman, your kindness and dedication make a profound impact on everyone fortunate enough to learn from you. You have a rare gift not only for teaching academic lessons but also for imparting valuable life wisdom that stays with us long after class ends. Your patience, compassion, and genuine care create a safe space where we feel encouraged to grow, ask questions, and become better versions of ourselves. Thank you for being more than just a teacher—for being a mentor, a guide, and an inspiration. Your lessons go beyond textbooks; they touch our hearts and shape our futures in ways we will always cherish.
He was my highschool teacher, and what made him stand out was how he made learning fun with his humor and teaching style. His jokes and laughter instantly made the classroom feel light and safe, but at the same time, he knew exactly how to explain the lessons clearly. He taught us about history, society, government, and how the decisions of leaders affect ordinary people, which made us more politically aware and conscious of our role as citizens. You can definitely see his passion in teaching. He also reminds us that our emotions mattered, making us feel seen and valued as individuals. He would always check up on us, whether we were struggling with school or with life, and that genuine care made a huge difference. Because of the comfort, guidance, and love he continuously gave, we started calling him “tay,” since he is already like our father figure, someone who not only taught us but also supported us like family.
Teacher Norman is a great teacher. I met him when I was in seventh grade, he seemed strict because of his appearance. However, he is the total opposite from my first impression of him. He is one of my high school teachers that is approachable, kind, and a teacher who never forgets his students. If you’re under his class, it’s never boring, because he knows how to engage with his students and make the class entertaining. And for me having that kind of vibe as a teacher helps the student to learn more effectively. He’s the kind of teacher whose lessons and kindness stay with you even after you’ve left his class.
During my time in the 10th Grade Sir Norman was a guiding light to me and my fellow students. During times when we students are at our lowest he would be there to comfort us and give us advice. When i was notified of his nomination i am taken back to my time in Grade 10 where i would ask for any advice on how to be a teacher. He would warn me about the challenges ahead and give me advice on how to overcome the stress of college life. At the moment i myself am taking University courses to become a educator and to this day i still have notes on his advice and words of wisdom. Apart from being a excellent teacher on could ask for he is also there when we are at our lowest. During a incident during a free time in class i remember a incident between me and my classmates which i will leave private for personal reasons. However i can say that Sir Norman was there for me comforting me when and telling me everything will be fine and to take it day by day and to keep my head up high because what happened will be a distant memory where the hurting will be in the past. He is a kind, wise, and caring soul who to this day even after many years still inspires me to pursuit pursue my dreams and to continue.
Hello sir norman! You were one of the best teachers I had back in Grade 10. Thank you for making learning meaningful and for believing in me when I doubted myself. I’ll always remember your kindness, your patience, and the way you made our class feel like family. You made a big difference in my high school life, and I’ll always be grateful for the wonderful memories you gave us.
I totally agree how joyful sir Amerkhan is, when I was a student in his class I always looked forward to his classes even if I am not strong on that area of teaching. He always makes the students understand before moving on to a topic and the same time make it more fun to listen and learn.
One of the best teachers i’ve had, he’s very considerate and kind, teaches well and he’s funny too. U can be in his class 24/7 and never get bored.
Sir Norman was my Araling Panlipunan teacher back in 10th grade. He inspired us not only through his lessons but also through his life experiences. He made our school year truly memorable. Approachable, kind, funny, and respectful — he was like a second parent to us.
He was one of the best teachers I had during my high school years. He would always make the class interesting with the topics he teaches and there was never a dull moment in the classroom with him. He shows his care towards his students as if we were his children. He always spreads positive vibes and words of wisdom that trully would lift and encourage us.
Sir Norman is more than a teacher but a father figure for us his students. The way he cares and teaches us is one of a kind because he’s not only teaching education but also guiding each one of us to be a better person. I hope and pray for your success sir! Godbless you.
Teacher Norman? Where do I even begin? ^.^ I have so much respect for this man. He wasn’t just a teacher to me—he became a true friend, a steady companion who believed in me when I was at my lowest and doubting myself the most.
While others began to lose faith in me, Teacher Norman stayed. He stood by me in my darkest days, offering not just guidance, but genuine hope. With him, laughter and joy were never far away. He has this amazing ability to balance everything—knowing exactly when to be lighthearted and playful, and when to simply listen, be present, and offer quiet support. Teacher Norman is one of those rare people who had my back when no one else did—not even me. And for that, I’ll always be grateful.
I count myself incredibly lucky to have once been his student, and even more blessed to still call him a friend today.
Kudos, Teacher Norman! You’re one of the real ones.
Looking back on my high school days, one of the people I will always remember with a big smile is Sir Norman. He had this special way of making our classroom a happy and comfortable place for everyone. Every time he entered the room, the atmosphere instantly changed, it became lighter, more fun, and full of excitement to learn.
Sir Norman was not just an ordinary teacher. He made every lesson come alive. The way he explained each topic made it easy for us to understand, and he always found creative ways to keep us interested. There was never a dull or boring moment whenever he was our teacher. He had this cheerful personality that could brighten anyone’s day, and because of that, going to class never felt like a burden, it felt like something to look forward to.
What made Sir Norman truly special was that he didn’t just teach us academic lessons; he also shared real-life wisdom and values that we could apply outside the classroom. He encouraged us to dream big, to believe in ourselves, and to never give up easily. Through his humor, kindness, and dedication, he showed us that learning can be both meaningful and fun at the same time
Beyond the lessons and activities, Sir Norman gave us memories that we will treasure forever. The laughter, group works, fun discussions, and little moments of joy in his class will always be part of our high school story. Even now, whenever I remember those times, I can’t help but smile and feel thankful that I had a teacher like him.
Norman, affectionately known to us as "Man-Man," has been a close friend since our college days. He has always been a true gentleman—caring, dependable, and consistently ready to lend a hand whenever needed. Despite our busy schedules and the demands of life, we’ve always made the effort to stay in touch and maintain our connection.
Man-Man is one of the strongest individuals I know. He endured the heartbreaking loss of two of the most important people in his life within the same year, yet continued to carry himself with strength and grace.
He is not only a good friend but also a naturally gifted teacher. His passion for teaching is evident in the way he dedicates himself to his students and his craft. He has a genuine heart for education and always brings positivity, humor, and care to those around him.
Teacher Norman was my 10th-grade teacher, and one of my favorites. His light and fun vibe made every class enjoyable, and his kindness made him feel like a second father to us. He always listened, gave heartfelt advice, and turned every lesson into something meaningful. I’ll always be grateful to have been one of his students. He inspired me to keep learning with joy and confidence. His impact will always stay in my heart.
Teacher Norman has been one of my most memorable teachers when I was in high school. He filled every class not just with valuable topics from his subject but he included valuable life lessons he learned through the years. I could never forget the advise he gave us to always treasure and show love to our parents because we will never know when will be our last moments with them. Moreover, I remember being excited whenever his subject would be the next since I know it will all be filled with laughters and memories being shared together in our classroom.
Working with Norman has been such an inspiration. He’s a skilled and passionate educator whose professionalism, sense of humor, and mastery of his subject truly stand out. The way he connects with students and makes learning enjoyable shows his genuine heart for teaching.
Teacher Norman was my former high school teacher in 10th grade. I can really say that he is one of my favorite teachers in my school because he is not just a teacher but also we call him papa ( father in english), we can tell him our problems and he listens carefully and gives us heartful advices , as if we are his own child. Teacher Norman is also a comedian in our school, for us not to be bored while he is teaching filipino history. He makes teaching not bored at all, in result that we really listen to his lectures. I am so blessed to have him as my teacher.
Hello, I am Marj, one of his former students from Precious International School of Davao. He was once my Araling Panlipunan teacher — but to us, he was more than that. We fondly called him “Tay” or “Pa,” because he truly became a father figure to many of us.
Teacher Norman was the kind of educator who could light up the room with his jolly personality and genuine warmth. He never failed to make our days brighter every time we saw him. Beyond being a teacher, he was a mentor, a listener, and a friend. He was an excellent communicator, someone you could easily approach and talk to, whether it was about school or personal matters. Even when he was busy, he always made time for his students — that’s how much he cared for us.
That is how we, his former students in the Philippines, remember and describe him: a dedicated teacher, a compassionate mentor, and a fatherly figure who touched our lives in the most meaningful way.
Teacher Norman is the greatest and funniest teacher i ever had. He's smart and always make sure the class is interactive and fun. He is such an exceptional teacher who truly cares his student.
Teacher Norms—or "'Tay" (Filipino for Dad), as many of us called him back in junior high school—was a teacher in all the ways that mattered, and more. When school was dreadful and the hours were long, the prospect of taking his subject next was always sure to brighten our day. Fellow students and I were giddy and excited to learn because Teacher Norman was just as passionate to teach. His dedication has always spurred us on to exert our own efforts in class, and to do our part as students. Listening and being engaged was natural when he teaches, no matter how tedious the subject matter may have been.
Even beyond the four corners of the classroom, he was someone we could turn to when times get rough; he never made us feel that anything from him—whether it be motivation, comfort, or support—was too much to ask. They say high school is one of the most formative and life-changing periods of one's life, and I could genuinely say that Teacher Norman is a big part of why that had been the case for me.
Tay is, indeed, a LifeChanger.
Mr. Amerkhan, whom we know as Teacher Norman or ‘Tay’ back in 10th grade, is a fun and genuinely kind educator. He goes out of his way to understand the struggles of his students with empathy. He provided insights based on reality to help us better understand the lessons. Most importantly, he makes sure everyone feels included and adaptable.
Teacher Norman was my former teacher. Based on my experience He was a great teacher who dedicated his life to helping his students learn and grow. His patience, kindness, and passion made him one of the greatest teachers I’ve ever known.
Teacher Norman was an inspiring and caring mentor who made learning fun, meaningful, and easy to understand. Despite facing tough challenges, he always brought positive energy to class and treated us like his own children. His passion, humor, and wisdom made History and Social Studies come alive, and his impact will always stay with us. He truly deserves to be called a Life Changer.
Teacher Norman always radiated positive energy and enthusiasm. He was approachable, patient, and made complex concepts into easier ones making them easy to understand. His passion for teaching was evident in every class discussion, and I’m truly grateful to have been his student.
Norman's ways of teaching has inspired me to seek the understanding of the intricacies of humanity's history and culture. He has shown me the beauty that each person has, he made me realize that history has its own weight as much as how we try to conceive the idea of or future, and lastly, he taught me how us as individuals will contribute to our society in our own good little ways. Pedagogy, I believe, is a calling that a person has to respond to. Luckily, Norman responded to this call for our sake and to shed light of this beautiful world.
Teacher Norman is a truly inspiring teacher, full of positive energy and enthusiasm. His classes were never dull—he often sprinkled in light-hearted jokes that made everyone smile. Approachable and supportive, he was always ready to help his students, no matter the challenge. His passion for teaching was also evident in every lesson, effortlessly turning complex concepts into ideas we could easily understand. I am more than grateful to have been his student.
Teacher Norman was my former high school Araling Panlipunan teacher. He was very passionate about the subject he taught and always made sure that we not only understood the lessons but also enjoyed his class. He often shared his life experiences, which truly inspired us as students. Teacher Norman left a lasting mark on our lives, and I am forever grateful to have experienced being his student.
Sir Norman was not only our Grade 10 teacher — he was like family to us, but a big brother also who guided and cared for everyone. He was always smiling, even when we didn’t know what he might be going through inside. Despite everything, he always gave his best to teach us valuable lessons and inspire us every day. He was also a fun teacher with a great sense of humor, making every class enjoyable and full of laughter. Even when I went to nursing college, he continued to support and encourage me. He’s truly one of the best teachers I’ve ever had, and someone I’ll always be grateful for.
Teacher Norman was one of my teachers back in high school. He is one of the most memorable teachers I’ve ever had. He is fun to be with and always makes learning enjoyable. His way of teaching is never boring because he loves to share stories, ideas, and lessons that make the class lively and interesting. What I admire most about him is that he teaches with heart. He doesn’t only focus on the school subjects, but he also shares lessons that help us in real life. He gives advice on how to face problems, how to stay strong, and how to be better people in the real world.
He is very considerate and understands the situation of his students. He listens, he gives chances, and he always tries to help in any way he can. You can really feel that he cares.
Teacher Norman is also very hardworking, caring, and loving—not just as a teacher, but also as a person. He shows us what it means to be a good friend, a responsible father, and a loving husband. He is a great role model not only inside the classroom but in life as a whole. I’m truly thankful to have been one of his students.
Teacher Norman was our Araling Panlipunan professor when I was in Grade 10. He was one of the teachers I would never forget. I remember looking forward to his lessons because it was never a dull moment. Apart from learning about the topic, I'd hear stories and jokes. I used to think that if my father were still alive, he'd be like teacher Norman. He was one of my father figures in high school, and this is no sugar-coated compliment. When he addresses me as "nak," I always feel a sense of warmth as if I weren't in fact alone in my home country, considering that my sole mother is an OFW. He supported me and believed in me in ways no one else did. For his life-changing support, words of affirmation, and confidence in my abilities, I was able to propel myself towards my dream. Now that I'm in college, I still remember his teachings. So much so that I've made it a goal of mine to send my graduation photo (hopefully!) to him once I graduate from college to show how far I've come. Even though it was a pandemic and I only got to learn from him online, he's always had a special place in my heart as one of the most transformative and caring teachers I've been under. I am blessed to have met a teacher like him.
Mr. Norman is a friendly and approachable teacher who easily connects with both students and fellow teachers. He teaches with passion, always bringing positivity to the classroom. His cheerful and understanding nature makes learning more enjoyable and meaningful for his students.

Norman is not just an exceptional teacher — he is an inspiration. His passion for teaching goes beyond the classroom; he touches lives, builds confidence, and helps his students believe in their own potential. As a friend, Norman is just the same — kind, dependable, and full of heart. He listens, supports, and motivates everyone around him. Seeing him a nominee as Teacher of the Year is no surprise, because his dedication and sincerity shine in everything he does — both in his profession and in his friendships.

Norman is a friend to all especially to his learners but aware of his boundaries. He is loved because of his wit, humor, and knowledge and skills of his craft. He is humble and a loving son to his late mom! He is very dedicated too when given a task.
Truly deserving! Sir Norman is one of the most dedicated teachers of Precious School. Despite the challenges he faced, especially losing both of his parents, he remained strong and continued to inspire his students through his resilience and passion for teaching. A true example of a Lifechanger!
Teacher Norman is a fun, engaging teacher who delivers his lessons in relevant and practical ways. His class is never boring as he always creates activities that catch his students' interests. He is well-liked and respected by his colleagues.
As a former co - teacher of Mr. Norman Amerkhan from a private institution, I could say that he was enthusiastic, versatile, and comfortable to work with. On the other hand, as an educator, he practiced inclusive education through catering the needs of the of his learners of all races and backgrounds, which made a positive impact to the lives of his learners.
It’s really true — I can attest to that. I was his co-teacher before. Congratulations, Sir Norman!

Sir Norman has been part of my wholesome highschool life at Holy Cross of Davao College. He was once our teacher at 9th grade here in Davao City, Philippines.
I’d confidently and safely say that sir has this burning passion when was teaching in our section. He would explain slightly difficult historical things into a much digestable way for 9th graders like we were.
He also instilled humor in teaching that would make the time slot with him enjoyable and much productive.
Now that I already graduated college, I’d say that he was one of the teacher that stood out the most for me in my entire school life as he did really a great job in being a teacher with empathy all while maintaining his professionalism as our “guro”.
(Tagalog: Guro = Teacher )
Thank you sir for being part of my academe life!
Norman is an amazing, supportive, and inspiring person — both as a teacher and as a friend. He deserves it.
Sir Norman is more than just a teacher to us, he is a caring big brother who has a warm heart that touched many. He had inspired us to be better people and members of the society while being students. I love how he continues to motivate everyone even in the tiniest ways. His life has been a huge example of how discipline and love co-exist. We are blessed to have him as both a teacher and a big-bro.
Teacher Norman was my former high school teacher and 10th-grade moderator. To keep the story short, despite facing some of life’s heaviest struggles and losses, he was a powerhouse of positive energy. Sometimes, I could see the stress written on his face, yet he shielded his students from it, treating us as his own children. He was a teacher who went beyond the classroom, guiding us as both mentor and second parent. He was an approachable friend and a father figure. Teacher Norman taught with charisma, making History and Social Studies not only interesting but deeply engaging, opening our eyes to issues that affect our society, the economy, and politics. I only wish we had more time together before the pandemic struck. He stood out as a teacher, and I am grateful that he was part of my learning journey. Teacher Norman’s passion, sense of humor, and influence make him deserving of the Life Changer of the Year award. To be where he is now is a symbol of his resilience and perseverance, an examplar to all his former "mga anak", current students, and would-be students.

He always made lessons lively and interesting, and his energy just drew people in. What made him even more memorable was how approachable and genuine he was. You are a great teacher :D
he's very nice he's my fav teacher he be helping me with my work he's pretty coolness if i say so myself he kind of reminds me as a panda but yeah he's a great person he's funny and kind.
Hello, I feel that I might have a lot to say to you. Not in a bad way though, I think you're a great teacher and just as a person your awesome. I hope that you are going to be here for a while, because these kids need you. I think you are great at explaining, you are creative, funny, nice, and cool. Also, I wanted to say sorry for drawing all over my papers... I can't really help myself, but I hope you'll understand. I can't promise I'll stop, but I'll try to tone it down a little. I like history because you make it enjoyable, I didn't know what to think when I entered seventh grade. But I was able to warm up to you pretty easy, I'm glad that you treat your students nicely and walk them through things they don't know or don't understand. Your very patient, and I love that about you, I'm glad that you are my teacher. No, this isn't an ending actually, I just wanted to squeeze in that ACES is so lucky to have you! Anyone who disrespects you is probably just attention seeking, don't ever listen to them because you are a great person! I feel like I repeated that, but at least it's true. I'm glad I can learn easily in your class without much struggle, you're great at teaching! Don't get me wrong though, history is pretty easy. I don't exactly mean it in a "Oh I'm better than everyone because I'm so smart!". I mean it in a way that a lot of people agree that it's very easy, trust me. All you really do is learn about the past and write, there is probably more to that I just don't really want to explain it right now because I'm writing about YOU. But, back to you, I'm so glad you can put a smile on my face even when I'm not feeling great. Whatever I go through you manage to make it better, and you need to know that you have the same effect on others! You deserve so many teacher awards, maybe I'm exaggerating it. But I just wanted to let you know how great you are. Sincerely, Sophia Mannino :3

Before I met Mr. Amerkhan I used to have insanely high standards for my grades and thought that I was never perfect and that I'm not as smart as others. The first day I met Mr. Amerkhan he was talking about his self-interests, and I found out that we have the same interests in shows. Over the weeks I knew him he taught me that I'm perfect despite my grades even though I'm not getting all A+ he still helped me on an assignment and improved it, I am very grateful to his kindness. His laugh is insanely contagious and he's very funny and welcoming despite my small time spent with Mr. Amerkhan I still appreciate his enthusiasm to make his class welcoming and funny. I can't wait to spend this year and next year with you Mr. Amerkhan please continue to be one of my favorite teachers ^_^

He is a great teacher at this school. He is very funny and sometimes he gives me food (never). He does make me a little frustrated but that's okay. Otherwise, he's great.
mr. Amerikhan is a good teacher because he shows up almost every day to teach us. And he hasn't given up on us. He also likes anime which is really cool. He is also a very good teacher and i actually learn stuff in his class unlike most classes. . And he actually grades us properly. I think hes a really good and cool teacher.
I think Mr. Amerkhan is great teacher! He is kind and supportive! His one of my favorite teachers! His kind and a great teacher! i have learned alot cause of him!

He's a good person and he makes us smile and he's funny.
He gives us candy, he is really kind.
He is an amazing teacher he is funny. He explains stuff very well and helps with a lot. If you would need to talk to someone he would be someone to talk to if you don't have anyone else to talk to. Also, you could tell him drama or beef you have with somebody, and he wouldn't tell them or get you in trouble he would just try to help you out!! Anyways what I'm trying to say is that he is an amazing teacher!!
Mr. Amerkhan makes history fun and not like you want to fall asleep in the middle of class. he also gives us prizes. he helps keep students engaged, on track, and makes learning genuinely fun. he also makes lessons clear and easy to understand. he uses strategies to keep you engaged and listening to his lessons. I remember hating one subject and one only, history. but that was waaayyy back in the 6th grade. Mr. Amerkhan makes 7th grade history really interesting, fun, and engaging. he also makes sure that his class is fun and welcoming. he makes learning enjoyable and helps kids who don't understand. he makes sure to ask questions, where you're at, what you need, what you don't understand. lots of kids actually move from their home room to Mr. Amerkhan who possesses all these traits and is a worthy candidate for this nomination. He always supported us to do what we wanted to do and was always positive. Outside the classroom, we are still inspired by Mr. Amerkhan, and see why he was nominated for this competition. He explains lessons clearly and makes them easy to understand. he is nice and has actual and genuine care for others. he wasn’t just a great Social Studies teacher, he was a friend, who will help you through not just school, but life too. not only that, but he is funny kind, but at the same time he’s really good at explaining things so we actually learn. he keeps the lessons easy to follow, but full of information. he makes sure that everyone is on the same page, and understands.
Whenever I think of the teachers who have greatly influenced my life, one person immediately comes to mind. The fact that he has been nominated to this program was not only right to me, but to my classmates as well. In high school, we appeared to have some teachers who only seemed to care about authority or position. But in the case of Teacher Norman, we had a teacher who really knew us as students. His actions showed us that teaching went beyond academics; it was about empathy, sacrifice, and genuine care for others.
He liked to tell his life stories in class, including how he was his mother's only caregiver and supported the family of his then-girlfriend and current wife. He sacrificed a lot of himself, even though his resources as a teacher were low and he had little time and funds. His deeds demonstrated that teaching was not only about studying; it was about sympathy, compromise, and being sincerely concerned with people.
Teacher Norman treated us as his children. He always urged us to follow our dreams, changed his views to meet us halfway, and still maintained what was right. He always supported us to do what we wanted to do, bent his thoughts according to how we were and still remained steadfast about what was right. He used to remind us that one of the best gifts we could bestow upon ourselves was to complete our studies, since we would be equipped to face the demands of the outside world. I clearly recall an event when we had a major examination, and I was overcome with personal problems. I cried and could not restrain myself. It was the first time I was comforted by a teacher who told me that it was not a problem to cry, stop, and breathe when life is too much. He allowed me to take the exam when I was mentally ready, showing me that compassion is as important as discipline in education.
That mere gesture of knowing made me realize that in a world where the teenage years are full of emotions. It helped me understand that it is alright to feel, and that learning to do things step by step is a change. A teacher who knows how hard their students are going through is not just a teacher but a mentor, a beacon, and a source of encouragement. Mr. Norman possesses all these traits and is a worthy candidate for this nomination.
Outside the classroom, we are still inspired by Mr. Norman. He has proven that the real teaching is not measured only according to the test scores, but the lives touched, the confidence developed, and the dreams fostered. He is a person who serves as an example of the principles of commitment, modesty, and kindness that every teacher must pursue. To this end, and to the numerous other unofficial counts of how Mr. Norman has contributed to the lives of his students, I am absolutely convinced that he is the most deserving person to be recognized as the LifeChanger of the Year.
He is one of the teachers who guided me on the right path from being someone who has no sense of direction in life. Because of him he believed in me and he is one of the people who molded me in who I am today.
I think Mr. Amerkhan should be chosen because he makes such a big difference in class. His laugh and sense of humor make the room feel comfortable, and I always feel like I can be myself. At the same time, he explains lessons clearly and makes them easy to understand. I actually look forward to his class because I know I’ll learn something and have fun at the same time. That’s why I believe he really deserves this recognition.
"Until it is perfection, I won't accept my achievement." I used to impose immaculate standards upon myself, thinking it would gain the approval of others. Then came a time where I competed in a government agency program, and I flunked badly. Fortunately, God sent Mr. Amerkhan to me, and he kindly told me that it was alright to not be perfect. It might be something simple, but the Almighty used that moment to rebuke me. Over the years, I realized just how much I idolized perfection, and it has caused me to reject the grace of God where He alone can justify and sanctify me. Now, I live my life making one mistake daily, trusting that the Lord will correct and care for me. Going back, if Teacher Amerkhan had not been a father figure to me, I might not have known the futility of human flawlessness nor the glorious perfection of my Triune God. If Teacher Amerkhan gets to read this, let him know that I thank the Lord in my remembrance of Him.
Norman Amerkhan was my teacher in 2019, back when he was still teaching in the Philippines. Our class was in that in-between stage where we were still in high school but already feeling the pull of college and everything that came with it. He gave us the confidence to believe in ourselves at a time when we were figuring out who we wanted to be.
Norman wasn’t just a great Social Studies teacher; he made Contemporary Philippine Social Science feel alive and urgent, always joking that understanding what’s happening in our own country will never go out of style, something that feels even more true with the political climate we have today. More than lessons and dates, he taught us how to face the world with kindness and hope, and that’s a gift I still carry with me today.
It’s inspiring to see him now taking his talents to the world stage, and I hope he continues to reach and inspire children everywhere, just as he inspired us to be better citizens and people.
Teacher Norman was my teacher 5 years ago. He was not only a teacher but served as our second parent at school. He calls us "anak" which means son or daughter or simply just a name you call your children. His subject is fun and always filled with laughter which makes us effectively learn more in his subject. He told us before to send him our graduation picture wearing the black toga as a sign that we finished schooling and that he was a part of our journey to success. Now, I'm a graduate of Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and I've sent him a picture of my graduation picture. I thanked Teacher Norman for being a part of my journey. He was indeed a kind, loving and the favorite of many many students.
When I was under the class of Teacher Norman during the pandemic, he was able to help me get out of a run whenever it came to nearing deadlines and topics I couldn't grasp easily as someone who didn't mainly use filipino as their main language. I'm glad to see that he's able to help students from all the way over in Arizona too!
Mr. Amerkhan should be chosen because he makes class fun and welcoming. His laugh is contagious and his jokes make everyone feel comfortable, but at the same time he’s really good at explaining things so we actually learn. He makes lessons easy to understand and keeps us engaged, which is why we look forward to his class. He’s the kind of teacher who makes school a better place, and we think he really deserves this recognition.
