Lisa Goldan was nominated by her principal, Darcy Smith.
Lisa is a teacher who makes a difference in the lives of students. In her classroom, Lisa develops great relationships with students, balancing high expectations for academic performance with extensive support before, during and after school hours to help ensure success.
Lisa has a great sense of humor and understands early adolescents. She uses inquiry approaches to instruction. She is enthusiastic about using student results to guide her instruction. Lisa advises the Ski Club and after a day of teaching in her classroom, gets out on the ski slopes and has fun with kids. Lisa has held a variety of leadership roles at PMMS. For example, she served as the MS Lead Science teacher for four years. For the past two years, Lisa has worked as a MS Response to Intervention Coordinator. In this role, she has championed creatively supporting students who are furthest from meeting grade-level learning standards. She selects and schedules interventions for struggling students and facilitates brainstorming sessions with teachers and specialists. Following up on recommendations and plans put in place, Lisa works to support teacher teams in implementing plans that were developed.

I've known Lisa for 25 years & she is one of the most loving individuals I have ever met. Not only is she a great wife & mother, Lisa is smart as a whip, passionately curious, sharp as a tack & God doesn't require that we be successful only that we be faithful. With an eight grader & sixth grader I can only wish for my girls to have such a caring teacher & lifechanger in the upcoming school year!
Lisa is my niece. She has always been a kind, caring person. Lisa is a hard worker, sets her goals high and achieves them to the best of her ability. She makes our family proud as I know she does as well at PalMac.

Lisa brings to her students & fellow staff the experiences of 20 years of teaching. She has taught at a variety of grade levels and in different environments - urban and rural. Her dedication to her students is significant as she endeavors to give each child the best in education no matter what their ability. Lisa is a sincere professional who is willing to reach out while discovering new methods to instruct her students. As a parent herself, Lisa is well aware of the pressures that students & families face from day to day. Ultimately, Lisa strives to provide success to all of her students even if it requires more personal time on her part. I would highly recommend this award for Lisa as she is an outstanding example to her students & other staff at Palmyra Macedon.
I have been Lisa's co-teacher for the past nine years. She has helped shape me into the educator that I am today. Lisa holds our students to high standards while differentiating for each individual student. She develops close relationships with each student and truly cares about their academic and emotional well being. I feel extremely privileged to have had the opportunity to be her co-teacher for nine years. She is very deserving of this award.
One of the best teachers I know. She thinks about all aspects of her students needs. The most impressive thing about her is she is always looking to help all kids at our school not just the one in her classroom.

Lisa is an amazing and passionate teacher. She called on my expertise in the environmental field to be able to share with her students real applications within their community. I'm ecologist in Western New York. Lisa had her students generate well thought out questions for me and shared the answers with them about pollution and its effects on the critters and plants in their direct environments. Lisa shows a great deal of passion with what she teaches her students. She goes above and beyond the curriculum to make sure her students are aware. I only wish my children had a teacher like her.
I had the pleasure of working with Lisa the first 3 years of my teaching career. I still think of her leadership and model teaching. Her students adored her. She was engaging, passionate, and collaborative. I taught 3rd grade and all the students wanted to be in her class for 4th grade!!
Lisa has been an essential person to help students maximize their success. Her leadership, kindness, and fun personality have transformed our Student Success Meetings. As a 7th grade math teacher I hear many kids say how awesome Mrs. Goldan was and how nice she was when they were in her 6th grade class.

Lisa is a leader among the teachers in the Middle School. She connects with faculty and with her students. She finds out what is important to her students and forms bonds with all of them as well. I truly enjoy working with her and appreciate all she does for our school.

I worked with Lisa at Park Elementary School in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. It was a Title 1 school and we had many children with behavioral problems. Lisa was always willing to work with children who needed a little motivation to be successful. They responded well to her interventions. Lisa was always well liked by her peers and was always willing to offer help whenever and wherever needed.
I have know Lisa since she was a young girl. She is one of the most honest people I know. She always tries to look at the whole situation and understand the other person's point of view. Lisa is fully committed to the children who are fortunate enough to have her as their teacher. She possesses the rare combination of firmness and caring. She is a born educator. Lisa is a loving and respectful wife and a completely devoted Mom. She is smart, affectionate and has a wonderful sense of humor. Lisa is a great listener. She is one of those people you love to talk to for hours over a cup of coffee! I am very blessed to have Lisa in my life.

I only had the pleasure of working with Lisa for one year at Park Elementary, however in that year i saw what a caring teacher she is. Lisa had a way to get the most unmotivated students involved and trying their hardest.
