Ms. Ayars intentionally builds a classroom culture where every student feels valued, respected, and capable of success. Each day begins with her standing at the door, greeting every student by name and making that personal connection before learning even starts. This simple ritual sets a welcoming tone and reinforces to students that they are valued and belong.

Ms. Ayars designs lessons that are engaging and hands-on, encouraging students to collaborate in various group sizes. These projects allow them to learn from one another, share ideas, and develop teamwork skills. Students are also given numerous opportunities to stand up and present their work to the class, which builds confidence, communication skills, and pride in their accomplishments.

Her class makes it a habit to cheer for and celebrate each other's achievements, big or small. This not only boosts individual confidence but also fosters a supportive classroom community. Clear expectations, consistent routines, and meaningful relationships ensure her students feel safe to take risks, try new ideas, and grow academically and personally. Her ultimate goal is for every student to leave her class believing they matter and can make a difference.

Ms. Ayars is a very dedicated teacher and was an integral part of the team that received the NFTE Most Innovative Campus award for consistently going above and beyond. She was also selected to be the teacher for the inaugural DISD summer Biz Camp in 2024 and returned as the lead teacher in 2025.
