Music that Describes Meredith
Meredith Stone was nominated by her principal, Ginny Edwards.
"It is with the utmost pleasure and honor that I nominate Mrs. Meredith Stone for the LifeChanger of the Year Award. Mrs. Stone consistently goes above and beyond for her students, colleagues, and the entire Bowdon Elementary School community. To know her is to love her. She embodies what it means to be a dedicated educator, entering each day with purpose, passion, and an unwavering commitment to inspire learning and growth," said Edwards.
Mrs. Stone brings an incredible amount of energy to her classroom, where students explore life cycles, plants, engineering, coding, and force and motion through hands-on lessons. She ignites learners' curiosity, collaboration, and creativity, helping them see everyday tasks as opportunities for scientific thinking, problem-solving, and innovation. Her students thrive in an environment where learning is engaging, meaningful, and fun—enhanced by her willingness to share her love of animals and her expertise in STEM.
Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Stone's influence extends across the school and community. She has organized field trips to national parks and the Space and Rocket Center, providing students with unforgettable experiences that connect learning to the world around them. She successfully leads the school-wide 4-H program, where students have earned both state and national honors. She has also built a community garden, organized farm days for all 720 students to connect with agriculture, and led the school-wide drama program.
Mrs. Stone is recognized by her peers for her leadership and dedication, serving as Teacher of the Month, co-chair of the school's technology clubs, and leader of the BES Staff Engagement Organizational Team. This year, she is becoming Nationally STEM Certified, joining the ranks of only 2% of teachers nationwide. Her work continually transforms classrooms and inspires students, teachers, and school leaders to reach higher and dream bigger.
"In my 20 years in education, I have rarely encountered an educator as committed, innovative, and caring as Mrs. Meredith Stone. She consistently does whatever it takes to ensure her students succeed academically, socially, and personally. Her creativity, leadership, and heart for students make her truly deserving of the LifeChanger of the Year Award," said Edwards.
