What can I say that hasn’t already been said? She does the work of 10 people, and her energy is unmatched. A great friend, and in my 38 years of teaching, I have never seen any teacher make an impact on students like her. I am so thankful to work with her even if I do hear roosters crowing outside my window at school.

Mrs. Buckler absolutely deserves this recognition. She goes above and beyond not just for her own family and friends, but all of her students and former students can attest to that, 3 of those were my own children. She has dedicated countless hours to her STEM projects over her career, she understands what children need in an environment to not just learn, but make it fun for them to want to engage and learn.
My family has known Mrs. Buckler for years. She has been a HUGE influence in all three of my children’s life’s. Her work ethic is amazing. She truly loves every child just like they are one of her own. I’ve personally witnessed her own child name every single president. She has a way of teaching children that is outside the box and makes learning fun. I have watched her face many things in her life with grit and determination. I am thrilled to see Jennifer nominated for this award! While I never had the privilege of being her student, I was fortunate enough to experience her incredible coaching in both volleyball and softball during high school. Jennifer's enthusiasm, competitiveness, and fun personality made each practice and game an unforgettable experience.
She excelled at building relationships with her players, always showing genuine care for each individual's growth both on and off the field. To us, she was more than just a coach; she was a mentor and a friend.

Growing up, Jenny was my softball coach and instilled values into me that still hold true today. Now, she teaches my children and they enjoy the projects they do. We are so lucky to have her at Western and the opportunities she is providing to our district.
For the past several years my company has partnered with Jennifer Buckler to promote and support STEM learning. Her ideas, passion, and commitment to providing students opportunities to see outside the classroom and beyond the community is unmatched. Just walking in her classroom, you feel an energy. Her students are not only engaged, but they are also excited, something is going on in every corner, and every child has found a place to thrive. While living in one of the more impoverished communities in Ohio, she fights for her kids to have exceptional opportunities and help them learn their worth and understand they are capable of anything and encourages them to think outside the box to find their own passions. Every school district needs at least one Jennifer Buckler. Her desire to help her students learn and grow is unmatched.
Mrs Buckler is a life changer. She’s dedicated, almost to a fault. She works constantly, even when she doesn’t realize it, always thinking and planning ways to make a connection for a specific student. She worries about their safety, their interest and ability to break the molds set by poverty. She researches, studies and prays for answers to these problems.
Teaching doesn’t stop at school for her. She makes teachable moments for our son during chores, bath time and books before bed.

We have known Jenny both inside and outside the classroom, and she is truly one of the finest teachers my child has ever had. Her care for students extends far beyond the walls of her classroom. She demonstrates a genuine commitment to each child’s growth, not only academically but personally as well.
I have personally witnessed her work with some of the most challenging students, guiding them toward a love of learning and a positive school experience. This is no small accomplishment, and she approaches it with remarkable dedication, compassion, and passion for every child she teaches.
Jenny taught my child when he was seven to eight years old, and he is now twenty-three. Even after all these years, she continues to ask about him and takes great pride in the person he has become. That lasting connection speaks volumes about the impact she has on her students’ lives.
Jenny is an exceptional educator both inside and outside the classroom—an increasingly rare quality. Beyond her professional excellence, she is a person of great kindness, warmth, and integrity. Being in education (especially in a Rural Appalachian setting) you HAVE to teach outside of the “public school standard” box that truly hinders most students’ love of life skills and passionate thinking. I’ve known Jennifer my entire life, in many different roles. Family friend, photographer, teacher, and coach. In each of these roles Jenn goes above and beyond. She’s truly deserving of this award and many others!
Ms. Buckler is an amazing educator and supporter for the students at Western Elementary. The students learn so many new things that they wouldn’t be exposed to without her. She leaves a lasting impact on each and every student.
Jennifer is one of my coworkers and a dear friend. She is truly an inspiration to our community and to the students at Western. She provides incredible opportunities for students, allowing them to explore possibilities beyond the classroom. Where do I start? What can you say about a teacher who starts a brand new program and completely funds that program and the majority through grant writing and fundraising?! Jennifer started a STEAM program at Western Elementary with no play book and no boundaries - just passion and faith. Jennifer is a game changer on every level and is literally on a mission to inspire an entire school to view their world through new lenses.
A great teacher ignites curiosity, stays optimistic and empowers students, Jennifer is all those things and so much more. She taught both my children, her involvement doesn’t stop within the classroom, she loves being involved with our community.

I’ve had the privilege of knowing Jenny as many different things. As a mother, a cousin, a sister, and a photographer. Yet my favorite is watching her teach. Not all teachers can say that they carry the weight of the world when it comes to their students. But I see Jenny everyday take it in stride and give comfort, care, love and respect to each and every student. She goes out of her way to give them opportunities they might not get otherwise. Being a graduate from Western, I can see the difference she’s making and I am a little envious that these kids get to have her as a STEAM teacher! This year I have gotten to work alongside her and see how much of an impact she’s making everyday. I can only hope one day I can be half the teacher she is.

I could not think of anyone more deserving of this recognition than Mrs. Buckler. I have known her since we were kids, and she has always been a teacher at heart. Over the years, I have seen her be a teacher as a, coach, photographer, friend, livestock producer, and mommy.
Her students have the opportunity to learn outside the box. I know I would have been far more engaged in school if I had been given some of the incredible opportunities her students experience. She teaches real-life skills that they will use for the rest of their lives.
I was blessed to be able to spend time in Mrs. Buckler’s classroom last year and be part of her sixth graders’ lessons on communication and interview skills. This was an outstanding learning experience for her students and an essential skill that all students should begin developing before entering the real world.
The students at Western are truly blessed to have Mrs. Buckler not only in their classroom, but also in their lives.

I have two grandchildren at Western. They get so excited when it is Steam week. They talk constantly about what they are doing and learning with Mrs Buckler. She is a great asset to our school and to the children.
Some people just get things done for their students because they do not accept that it can't be done. On paper, Jenny shouldn't have a fighting chance to change the lives of our students. Everyday, she leads our community by gracefully showing that we can overcome the challenges that accompany living in a rural, impoverished area affected by the drug epidemic. She leverages the beauty of Appalachian culture by including our eager and willing community partners. She hunts down every opportunity for our students to show them all of the potential and options they have. She changes their lives by giving them hope and giving them purpose.
While she deserves many accolades for her professionalism, her agriculture skillset, and her educational knowledge, she deserves your award because she is especially talented at finding the children that society forgets and providing them with many diverse paths forward. For many of these kids, her class is where they go to be loved and learn to love education.
From sewing skills, to chicken coops, to 3D printing, to podcasts, to building a student run and profitable laser printing business, and all the way back to freeze dried candy entrepreneurship and sourdough bread making, Ms. Buckler ensures our students can come to school and have the STEAM skills needed to be successful leaders in whatever path they choose. There isn't enough space or time to list the projects she leads in a single school year much less the partnerships she's cultivated throughout her career. Just like the winter seedling program she is currently working on with our students in which community sourced milk jugs provide the shelter seedlings need to thrive in the winter (concurrently with many other projects, I must add) the kids in our community are growing despite the harsh conditions with community support and knowledgeable heart of a leader who won't stop until every single one of us sees that we deserve to have our lives changed for the better.
Jenny Buckler is the epitome of a life changer, with recognition or not. She will still be in our school, throughout our community changing the lives of the people who cross her path. However, your continued recognition of her as our LifeChanger would add a financial spark to the fire she has lit in our part of the world that no other candidate could put to use like she can and will.

I have known Jennifer Buckler my entire life. We grew up as classmates and both went on to become teachers, which gives me a unique perspective on her passion for education. Both of my boys had Jennifer as a teacher, and their experiences in her classroom were truly memorable. She always had the best projects for students to work on, from tie-dye shirts and learning about space to art projects and Makey Makey technology that she even allowed them to bring home to explore. My boys absolutely loved her classes and the energy and joy she brought into the classroom every day. Jennifer also goes above and beyond by seeking out grants to bring new and exciting opportunities into her school and classroom. She is an outstanding educator who makes learning meaningful, engaging, and fun.

Mrs. Buckler was a blessing to our son Maxton. Having a child with Dyslexia is the most rewarding and a huge learning experience as you become their advocate. With Mrs.Buckler she believed in Maxton in such a way that it instilled confidence in him,and I saw step by step something far more awarding than any trophy. I witnessed a teacher educate something far greater than state curriculum’s,she taught Maxton ways to see things through her eyes and not society. He learned the tools of technology,and steam that is particularly used to benefit those with Dyslexia. She found tools that taught him a different way because all children learn differently. One thing I will never forget is her advice and that very thing is his response he uses today when someone ask him “What is Dyslexia?” His response is “I’m smart…I just see things different than you do.” Education is not based on writing,test,or strict state standards. It’s using STEEM,agricultural ways,learning to communicate,structure,and learning and applying what Mrs.Jennifer Buckler taught him. And that’s when you’re in Gods will like she is you will never work a day in your life. That is because your job is your calling,and the Lord will equip the unqualified and he will use them in a mighty way to bring glory to his name! As for Maxton he wants to be a farmer and a teacher one day.
Mrs Buckler makes adults want to be a student in school all over again! Even the most unreached and unmotivated child becomes an engaged learner in her classroom. Kids who have seen themselves as failures or have seen school they dread, experience success and belonging. Activities are tailored to the kids real life so they are building skillsets and resourcefulness that will serve them forevermore. She is always recreating her lessons for richer learning experiences including bridging students with community members and future employers. She definitely is in the top 1% when it comes to having an exceptional impact on students lives, hallway climates, and over school wide culture. A beyond beyond blessing.

Jen & I attended college together at Shawnee State University. I was old enough to be her mother but we just clicked! We took classes together and worked on projects together. I knew then that Jen was going to do great things for the students of Pike County, AND she has done just that and more!!

I had Jennifer as my first grade teacher at Jasper Elementary. I’m now 23 and I still remember that year as one of my favorite years of school because of her. She even ended up taking my senior year pictures. She’s a great hands on teacher. I don’t know if it’s my good memory or just the activities she had us do but I can remember specific things we did, like gathering pine cones and decorating them. She definitely deserves this title because she changed my life that year. Not just with facts but life lessons as well.

I have been privileged to know Jennifer for the past 10 years, first as my children's Enrichment Teacher, then as a friend and fellow goat farmer, our family's photographer, and now as a coworker at Western Local Schools. Whether in her role as a teacher, 4H mentor, friend, or mother, she continually strives to meet needs and push boundaries for the youth around her.
Life changer isn’t even the correct title- an angel, better yet. I’m so blessed to have my child being lead & supported by this amazing “life changer”.

Jennifer is nothing but deserving of this award. She builds relationships with her students, as well as strives for a positive/ classroom family environment. Her lessons are engaging and uses many various learning styles that works for all students! Not only is she a great teacher, but she is a great person who truly cares about others. She is inspiring!

Jennifer is a self driven highly professional and compassionate teacher. I have had the pleasure of working with her and witnessing the unique approaches she takes to education. She taught all 3 of my children, which they all still talk about different projects or things they learned from her. She really is a highly intelligent remarkable individual.

Jennifer Buckler is the teacher that every parent wishes their child could have every year. She inspires students to think creatively, explore boldly, and believe in their own potential. The way she connects learning to real-world possibilities helps students see themselves as future innovators, problem-solvers, and leaders. Her dedication is truly shaping confident, curious minds, and the impact she makes reaches far beyond the classroom. Even in her own time she gets out in the community and opens doorways for her students. Any student of hers will have a lifelong mentor, resource and helping hand.
Day after day, she goes far beyond her job description, making sure students have clothes and shoes, meeting their basic needs and stepping into the community to build connections and open doorways for her students. She recognizes that learning can’t happen unless students feel safe, supported, and seen and she takes action to make that possible.
Her willingness to advocate for students, to seek out resources, and to stand in the gap when others may not, changes lives in ways that can’t always be measured. She builds work ethic, curiosity, confidence, and reminds students that they matter and that their future is worth investing in. My daughter was blessed to have her as a teacher. I hope every school district has a Ms Buckler.
Jennifer Buckler has always went above and beyond for her kids and everyone else. She’s always looking for ways to help the kids & the community’s! She’s always left a positive impact on the community & everyone. I couldn’t honestly think of a more deserving person than Jennifer Buckler!
I have known Jennifer for over 25 years. She is a transformative educator and heavily involved in philanthropy in the Tri State area. She is on the board of A Greater Cause, an Appalachian nonprofit that promotes and highlights the talents in underserved areas of America. Her selfless dedication is unmatched by most, and inspiring to others. There isnt another candidate that deserves this more than Mrs. Buckler. If given this distinguished honor, I believe it elevates the award itself.
What a great teacher/person for this nomination! Jennifer is always looking for outside ag organizations, like Farm Bureau, to partner with. She brings agriculture into her classroom so her students get the full exposure of farming, and all other aspects of agriculture. . We have made butter with her kids so they understand where their food comes from. She is an amazing teacher and so worthy of this award.
Jennifer is a great teacher! She is an inspiration to all students and knows all students have the ability to learn. The students and school are BLESSED to have her as their teacher.

In education, a teacher should have love…. Not only for the job, but for the children to who are looking to you for wisdom, guidance and to learn life’s lessons…. Mrs. Buckler has this rare trait, where when she gets down to a child’s level, they see this love in her eyes. I’ve seen it time and time again. She has a soft spot for so many, but if a child needs extra attention, a nudge or a hug, she’s your girl, and you know it’s heartfelt. She’s been one of westerns greatest blessings and brought so much knowledge to not only students, but this bus driver has watched her from a distance and learned as well….. thank you mam for all you do.
Ms. Buckler is truly a life changer in every sense of the word. As both a coworker and a parent, I’ve had the privilege of seeing the impact she has not only on my own son, but on every student who walks into her STEAM classroom. She creates a space where every child feels seen, capable, and excited to learn. She goes above and beyond to remove barriers so all students can fully participate, not because she has to—but because she genuinely believes every child deserves access, dignity, and joy in learning. Beyond the classroom, Ms. Buckler is also an incredible coworker and an even better friend. She supports those around her with the same care, encouragement, and passion she gives her students, and our school community is stronger because of her presence Her advocacy, creativity, and commitment to community connection help students discover confidence and passions they didn’t even know they had. The way she empowers kids to think, create, and believe in themselves will stay with them far beyond elementary school. Our school — and our students — are better because of her.
As a parent in this school district, the impact I've seen Ms. Buckler make in the futures of her students is incredible. She is constantly striving to make a positive difference in her students' lives, very often sacrificing her time far beyond the workday. She finds the individual strengths and interests of her students, and seeks out ways to grow and nurture those strengths despite the limited resources we sometimes face in our small rural school. She not only encourages students to grow beyond what they have imagined possible for themselves, but she also works tirelessly to open doorways and bring those opportunities to them. The work she is doing now has been such a positive part of our community and school, and will no doubt have a lasting impact that will ripple throughout our community for many years.

Jennifer was born a teacher. She was always trying to help her friends in whatever she could. She’s been a successful coach, teacher, advisor, photographer, mommy and friend; while maintaining a home, garden and usually a herd of animals. I’ve known Mrs. Bucker for many years. She welcomed me with open arms and was even my teacher at one point. She is an incredible asset to the kids at Western Community. I see the difference she makes in the school every single day. I’ve watched her buy things out of her own pocket for students in need, and I’ve seen her cry when her students cry. She truly cares. She strives every day to make a difference in the Western community—and she does exactly that. I’m proud to support her and proud to call her my friend.
