Creating a positive classroom environment begins with building strong relationships with students by learning about their interests, strengths, and challenges. In Ms. Lemon's classroom, students are encouraged to express and embrace who they truly are. From the first day of school to the last, she nurtures her students' emotions, ensuring they feel safe, seen, and supported.

She works with students to co-create classroom norms, which fosters a sense of ownership and mutual respect. She also encourages student voice and choice by designing lessons that allow for meaningful participation and personalized learning paths. Whether through project-based learning, flexible seating, or differentiated instruction, her students are empowered to take an active role in their education.

She consistently celebrates growth and effort, using positive reinforcement, regular feedback, and student-led conferences to highlight progress and promote a growth mindset. She treats mistakes as opportunities to learn, helping students build resilience and confidence. Her goal is to cultivate a classroom where students are excited to learn, feel valued, and are motivated to reach their full potential.

Ms. Lemon was recognized as Teacher of the Month for October during the 2024–2025 school year. In addition to her classroom responsibilities, she was elected to serve as the Chair of the Black History and Read Across America Committees, where she led school-wide initiatives to promote cultural awareness and literacy. She has also had the privilege of mentoring several new educators within the building, offering guidance, resources, and encouragement as they transition into their teaching careers.
