Mr. Williams has successfully taught elementary school-aged children for six years. He is certified and experienced in differentiating instruction. He is roughly 60% completed with a Master's degree in K-6 Math from Western Governors University. He has been recognized for student growth through STAR assessments in both math and reading.
He has learned that having a positive classroom environment is crucial for student success. Creating a positive classroom environment starts with building strong and meaningful relationships with not just his students, but with their families. He learns about what excites students, what interests them, and even what upsets them. Then, he sets clear expectations and a space for "get respect, give respect." He also makes sure to celebrate all student growth, whether it's academically or personally.
Lastly, he and his class create a "social contract" and have a meaningful discussion about how to treat each other in their school home. They discuss things such as kindness, helpfulness, understanding, not judging, collaboration, etc. He believes these pieces together create an environment that is positive and safe.
Mr. Williams is a dedicated, passionate, and caring educator! He is truly one of a kind, pouring his heart into his work and making every student feel seen, valued, and capable. His encouragement and genuine care create an environment where students not only learn but also grow in confidence and character. He goes above and beyond to inspire and uplift, leaving a lasting impact that extends far beyond the classroom!

Mr. Williams served as my peer mentor nearly 5 years ago! He has every quality of a great leader, and his heart beams with intentionality & understanding. He builds relationship with every student, and all of his efforts display his impact. The level of stewardship he consistently leads with cannot be denied. Anyone with the pleasure of knowing and/or learning from Mr. Williams knows that he is goal oriented and seeks to execute every task in excellence!
I absolutely loved working with Mr. Williams! He has a true passion for children. We continue to keep up even though we are in different t grades and schools. I’m confident that he is still making the best decisions for his students day in and day out while raising his own girls at home!

I have seen the years of dedication Maurice has given to our Villa Rica and Temple communities. He truly does all he can and then some to help students and families. He is fair, firm, and loves his students with all that he has. We are blessed to have him as a role model in our community. He uses music to create memorable lessons for his students, and puts his all in whatever he does.
I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Maurice through sharing traffic duty with him at TES! Throughout the day, I see Maurice working hard with the students and doing a fabulous job! He is one of the few male teachers in our building. He is such an asset to the elementary world of education for these young boys who need a male role model. TES is thankful to have Mr. Williams!
