Ms. Kearney is a high school special education teacher. She supports students with diverse needs every day using her extraordinary patience, compassion, and skill. She's built a classroom where students feel safe, seen, and successful. She's helped students develop life, academic, and social skills that will serve them long-term.
Ms. Kearney has an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. She's currently pursuing a Master's degree in Special Education. She's creating Inclusive, functional classrooms and has designed spaces that support instruction and independence, including cooking stations, individual seating, and visual supports.
Ms. Kearney has requested and implemented grants and resources to enhance her classroom. Outside of school, she's a working mother of three, was a full-time caregiver for a special needs individual for 12 years until their passing last year, and a mentor to others. She has created customized lesson plans in reading, math, life skills, etiquette, and arts, tailored to students with unique learning needs.
