Music that Describes Joshua

Joshua Stinson was nominated by his friend and former teacher, Francie Axtell.

"Joshua was my computer student when he attended Mira Loma High School. Josh is the 'go-to' guy on campus. His students love and appreciate him in the classroom, as well as within all of the clubs and organizations he advises, which include the 100+ member National Winning Speech and Debate Team and the National Winning Future Business Leaders of America," said Axtell.

Mr. Stinson is instrumental in organizing the school's International Expo, which takes place every May. He is one of the Founding Members of his high school's Alumni Association. He's also the school's webmaster.

"Josh always puts the needs of others first. For example, I met him early at the school to put up banners he ordered before the new students picked up their schedules. The Vice Principal needed Josh to print signs to help the new students with directions. Josh made that his priority and printed the signs. His classroom is a welcome area for students of all ethnicities and multicultural backgrounds, and they love Josh. They love his leadership and open door policy," said Axtell.

When you walk into Josh's classroom, you can tell it's a special place. It feels like a place a kid could be comfortable in. It feels like a place where real learning takes place. Not just book learning, but life learning. It's fitting that he be nominated for this recognition.

Mr. Josh Stinson is the finest example of a teacher who genuinely CARES about his students and his teaching community. Not only does he teach English full time at Mira Loma High School, he also is in charge of the incredible Speech and Debate team, our International Night fundraiser and he also beautifies the campus. If a student is in need, Josh is ready and willing to help. He volunteers for chaperone duty and is an officer on the Mira Loma Alumni and Friends Board of Directors where he wears many hats. Josh's positive attitude and willingness to dive in is priceless. He is so very deserving of this. Thank you.!

Mr. Stinson has time for all students! He actually is the true definition of a MIGHTY Matador. Josh is an English teacher, Speech and Debate leader, International Night coordinator (what a wonderful program that benefits all the clubs on campus. He spear heads Beautification Day, four times a year at Mira Loma High School. He has added many plants, trees, and bark to the campus quad area. He has also created a beautiful vegetable garden with picnic tables, umbrellas, where students can socialize and enjoy the nature of the area. Thete are just too many contributions s that he has made to school to mention here. He is very deserving. Go Matadors, Go Josh Stinson
