Ms. Pemberton's positive attitude creates a great environment in her classroom. She has a "grateful jar" in her room for daily input. She also allows everyone in the room to have a voice. Music and social time are part of her classroom environment. She has daily snacks and a water cooler in the room. Students are allowed to work at their own pace and help facilitate a positive environment in the classroom. She has 23 years of working with at risk students and residential youth in rural Appalachian Ohio.
Ms. Beth is a great person and she helps other when they are feeling down and when they need help with their work and she supports people.

I have worked with Beth for 5 years and have many of the Mended Reeds students in my class. She makes sure they are on live lessons, she helps get them caught up when they fall behind, and she genuinely cares for all of her students with her whole heart. I had the pleasure of visiting the Mended Reeds location a few years ago, and at that time Beth had hurt her foot and the kitchen manager at that time had called off work. Beth made sure she got those boys to school, feed and even was talking about how she was coming back later in the day to have fun activities planned for the weekend. When I have her students on my live lessons, I can see Beth in the background checking in on them, working with others not in my class and making sure they have what they need to be successful in their learning. Beth is amazing and I am thankful I get to work with her!
Beth is an amazing person! She goes way above and beyond for the boys she teaches, mentors and guides at Mended Reeds. These are students who do not have a home life and guidance from a parent or loved one. Beth fills that void and gives them someone who truly cares about them. She gives up tons of her own time to make sure they have a special meal at Thanksgiving and special things at Christmas and all throughout the year. Her efforts go way beyond just making sure they are being educated, they are also being loved! She is a wonderful person and very deserving of this honor!!

Beth is truly extraordinary. She gives far beyond 100% to her GOAL Digital Academy students at Mended Reeds, pouring her heart into ensuring every young man knows someone believes in him. Beth is always working, whether for GOAL or Mended Reeds with one unwavering focus: student success.
Many of these young men come to the residential facility with a history of struggling at home, in life and in school. Beth refuses to let their past define their future. She believes in them first, and because of that, they begin to believe in themselves. The results speak volumes over 40% of her students earned Honor Roll in the second quarter, an achievement that once felt out of reach.
Beth gets results because she genuinely cares. She makes it clear every single day that her students are Known, Valued, and Successful. Every teacher at GOAL Digital Academy can attest to her impact—Beth ensures these young men attend every live class, and more importantly, that they show up engaged, participating, and ready to learn. She never gives up on them, even when it would be easier to do so.
We should all be lucky enough to have a Beth in our lives. If we did, the world would be a much better place.
