Oue Vue was nominated by Mai Lor, a family member.
Ms. Vue's spark began in sixth grade, when her own teacher saw something in her. Refusing to let her fall through the cracks, her teacher helped her believe she mattered. Her teacher took her to church and skating, but most importantly, she instilled confidence and purpose, which inspired a future teacher in the process.
Today, Ms. Vue has impacted many young learners for over 10 years. Her goal is to continue to do so for as long as she can. Her students are not just students to her; she sees them as whole children. She values each student's full name because names carry stories, roots, and identity. From teaching young learners how to write their names to helping them understand and share their world through visuals, her impact goes far beyond academics.
At the start of each year, she begins with "All About Me" posters, setting the tone that every student belongs and every story matters. Her approach is intensely personal; every year, she builds strong relationships with families by forming genuine friendships with them and creating a classroom that celebrates every child. She is more than a teacher; she is a LifeChanger, just like the one who once changed hers.
