Creating a positive classroom environment begins with building trust and mutual respect. Ms. Andrews makes it a priority to learn every student's name within the first week and establish clear expectations through a co-created class agreement. Her classroom is structured around student voice, equity, and emotional safety. She integrates Social Emotional Learning (SEL) strategies into daily routines, such as morning check-ins and restorative circles, to build empathy and community. She also uses flexible seating and clear organization to make the physical space welcoming and conducive to learning.

Culturally responsive teaching is a cornerstone of her practice. She incorporates diverse perspectives in the curriculum and ensures all students see themselves reflected in the materials she and her students cover. She celebrates small wins, encourages risk-taking, and provides consistent, constructive feedback to help students grow both academically and personally.
