Ms. Richardson approaches teaching with empathy, always putting herself in her students' shoes. She reflects on what would make school exciting and welcoming if she were a young learner today. This perspective shapes everything she does, from classroom design to relationship-building. She creates an inviting, vibrant environment by regularly updating wall displays and incorporating bright, calming colors. 

Ms. Richardson believes that when students take pride in their space, they also take greater ownership of their learning. Her classroom encourages responsibility, friendship, and inclusion, helping students build meaningful relationships with peers from all backgrounds. To foster connection and comfort, Ms. Richardson rotates student seating throughout the year. This not only strengthens classroom bonds but also helps shy students feel more confident and supported.

Her positive reinforcement system, featuring classroom bucks, special rewards like extra playtime, and occasional treats like Ice Cream Friday, keeps students engaged and motivated. Each day begins and ends with warmth. Ms. Richardson greets every child with a hug at the door and encourages students to do the same for each other. The result is a classroom full of kindness, care, and emotional safety.

At the start of the year, Ms. Richardson sends home a "Tell Me About Your Child" letter to learn about each student's interests and needs, ensuring she can connect with them on a personal level. If it wasn't already clear, Ms. Richardson teaches kindergarten, and she brings heart, joy, and intentionality to every moment in her classroom.
