LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Christine Tully was nominated anonymously.

Ms. Tully creates a positive classroom environment by building meaningful relationships with students and showing them that they are valued in the classroom. She and her students spend the first few weeks doing team-building/get-to-know-you activities. This helps students to feel seen, heard, and safe in the school. They talk about how they are all a team and support each other's learning.

Throughout the school year, Ms. Tully celebrates student growth and collaborates on learning. She has four classroom (and school-wide) rules: Be Respectful, Be Resourceful, Be Present, and Be Prepared. Students learn these rules and discuss what that looks like in the classroom so that everyone can be successful.

Ms. Tully is an Ohio Writing Project Teacher Presenter and a previous Staff Member of the Month.
