Ms. Trejo believes creating a positive classroom environment starts with making every child feel safe, loved, and welcomed the moment they enter the room. She teaches in a very transient neighborhood where all families are low-income, and many students face academic, behavioral, and emotional challenges. Despite these barriers, she holds all students to high, consistent expectations. They are expected to try their best and treat others with kindness and respect every day.

Ms. Trejo focuses on building strong relationships and celebrating positive choices through praise, classroom rewards, and leadership roles. Instead of using punitive measures, she helps students reflect on poor decisions and understand how their actions affect others. Her classroom is built on inclusion, structure, and compassion so that every student, regardless of ability or background, feels supported and motivated to grow.

Ms. Trejo's accomplishments reflect her commitment to students and growth as an educator. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. In addition to her general education license, she is also licensed in Special Education, which has been essential in supporting the diverse needs of her students.

She currently serves as the second grade department chair at her school, where she helps lead collaboration, curriculum planning, and team support. Her role requires strong communication, organization, and a clear vision for student success. These accomplishments reflect her dedication to creating an inclusive, effective classroom environment and continuously improving her teaching practice.
