Jenny Davis was nominated anonymously.

As a high school biology and health teacher, Ms. Davis strives to make sure her classroom is a safe space where students will not feel judged. She wants students to recognize her as an ally who will always do what she can to help them navigate their difficulties, whether she's being a trusted adult to simply listen to them or connecting them with those who can provide services. She also likes to have fun and try to create a sense of whimsy by telling jokes. She is not afraid to show vulnerability if it will make a student laugh.

As a veteran teacher, she has many accomplishments. While the most important ones are connections she makes with students, here are a few recent professional accomplishments:

1) During the 2023-24 school year, she was awarded a Grant from Green our Planet to start hydroponic gardening from the HydroConnect program.

2) She was awarded a grant from Green Our Planet to form a traditional garden from the GardenConnect program.

3) She received a $20,000 scholarship from UNLV: Project Pueblo to earn a masters degree in English Language Acquisition to provide equity in educational support for emergent bilingual students. She is expected to graduate in December 2025.

Ms. Davis is always willing to volunteer at the school and is consistently available to support anyone who needs help. This year, she’s working hard to get our gardening program up and running. With our limited budget, it’s been challenging for our clubs to secure the additional funding they need, but her dedication and effort have been unwavering.
