Ms. Baker, a 2015 Distinguished Staff Award winner, strives to cultivate a positive and respectful classroom environment by embodying the principle of the Golden Rule: treating others as she wishes to be treated. This is reflected in her daily interactions with students—greeting each one by name as they enter, taking a genuine interest in their lives outside the classroom, actively listening to their responses, and consistently treating them with kindness and respect. Ms. Baker also prioritizes creating a sense of joy and connection by finding opportunities to bring laughter into her learning space.

When she asks her students to put forth their best effort, Ms. Baker leads by example. Whether it's participating in physical training days or committing to challenges like completing 1,000 push-ups in a month, Ms. Baker actively engages alongside them. By working hard with her students, she aims to model dedication, build trust, and reinforce the collaborative spirit that defines their classroom community.

I had the fortunate experience of knowing Ms. Amanda Baker in her criminal justice class. She influenced every single one of us in that class in a positive way. There was never a doubt that Ms.baker cared about us. She pushed us out side of our comfort zone to help us grow. Ms.Baker participated and pushed us on our PT days to help motivate us. I’m grateful that she gave me the opportunity to participate in the annual law enforcement torch run. Ms.Baker is an amazing teacher.

While I never had Mrs Baker as a primary educator during my time at the Tech Center I was consistently subjected to her compassion and determination to uplift the students around her. Her exemplary character showcases through various acts of kindness without attached expectations. Such as when she brought encouraging letters and snacks to my class before a tough exam. Thank you Mrs Baker and congratulations on your deserved recognition.

What a fitting endorsement, to one incredible lady!!! I had Amanda as a student in elementary school and she defined herself as an outstanding, confident, kind, incredible person with a brilliant work ethic matched to the tenacity she possessed. Her radiant smile, and ability to embrace everyone was a tribute to her beautiful profile. This award would enhance the totality of all that she is!
