Mr. Collins creates a positive classroom environment by setting high expectations for his students at the beginning of the school year. He establishes consistent routines to ensure all students know what is expected. He builds relationships with his students by showing interest in their lives in and out of school and being a supportive, understanding role model.

He demonstrates mutual respect in his classroom so that all students have a voice and feel safe. He also believes that giving positive, constructive feedback while giving specific praise helps students be their best and succeed to their full potential. He wants all students to have an equitable learning experience, which means having access to supplies to help them be their best. No student should be left behind or have to go without basic school supplies, so he hopes to be able to provide them with everything that they could possibly need in the classroom.

Mr. Collins is a first-year teacher. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with two Bachelor's degrees and was voted most outstanding graduate in both education and mathematics at his university. He is also a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and he maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout college.
