Jennifer Allen was nominated anonymously.

Ms. Allen creates a positive classroom environment by being a positive person. She finds the silver linings in every situation. She loves the Henri Matisse quote, "There are flowers everywhere for those who want to see them." She believes each of her students is a beautiful, special flower, and she endeavors to help each student see and feel their unique worth.

Ms. Allen believes learning a foreign language should be a highlight of every student's public high school education, and she maintains that mindset daily in her professional work. She is blessed to be able to create enriching interdisciplinary learning experiences for her students where she gets to integrate music, art, and movement into her instructional strategies. Her students get to explore a myriad of multidisciplinary topics, like history and technology, for example, in the curriculum, so that they feel the organic joy of learning about language and culture.

Ms. Allen has high expectations for her students, but she meets each of them with a warm invitation to learn something new each day. She has always valued interdisciplinary and creative approaches to teaching and learning, where students can uncover their strengths and maximize their talents. She loves sharing her heart for the community and encouraging young people to reach for the stars as they become enrolled, enlisted, employed, and engaged citizens.
