Ms. Charles-Hyppolite believes that creating a positive classroom environment is essential to both student success and overall well-being. At the start of each school year, she works with her class to establish clear expectations, creating positive classroom rules as a community. She prioritizes building strong, meaningful relationships with both students and parents by learning about their strengths, weaknesses, and interests.
She consistently models respectful behavior, celebrates small achievements, and fosters a safe, welcoming space where every child feels valued and loved. Recognizing the challenges many of her students face with reading, she encourages them daily to build confidence and enjoyment in the process.
Among her many accomplishments, Ms. Charles-Hyppolite has helped improve her students’ reading levels, increased math scores on state assessments, and provided targeted support for struggling learners through small-group interventions. She also serves as the math lead teacher for her grade level and mentors new teachers, sharing her expertise and dedication to the profession.
