Ms. Stephens strives to ensure her students enter the classroom each day feeling calm, safe, and welcomed. She creates a cozy, engaging learning environment where students can thrive academically while building strong, lasting relationships with one another.
Known for her creativity, Ms. Stephens designs three to four classroom transformations each year, turning lessons into memorable, hands-on experiences that foster collaboration and friendship. Past transformations have included a football theme, National Pig Day, and a Toy Story–inspired classroom. This year, as a 4th-grade teacher, she looks forward to expanding these transformations into subjects like social studies and reading.
Her classroom feels like a second home, organized and structured, yet flexible and student-centered. While Ms. Stephens keeps everything orderly, her students know the space is theirs to explore. They feel comfortable accessing materials to support their learning, creativity, and curiosity. She also decorates for every holiday, incorporates arts and crafts, and provides essential supplies for students who may need them.
With nearly 14 years of teaching experience, Ms. Stephens holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Specialist degree. She is a technology innovator, a past Teacher of the Year nominee, and a respected leader among her peers. She especially loves creating colorful, detailed anchor charts that bring learning to life.
Above all, Ms. Stephens wants her students to feel loved, inspired, and excited to come to school each day—always wondering what fun and meaningful learning experience she has planned next.
