Mr. Walker begins by introducing himself to students, not just as their teacher, but as a person. To set the tone for the year, Mr. Walker establishes classroom norms and expectations, co-creating a culture of respect, accountability, and mutual support. He believes students thrive when they understand the boundaries and the opportunities that exist within a structured yet nurturing space. He lives by example, as well. He has won the perfect attendance award for four consecutive years.

To bring history to life, Mr. Walker transforms his classroom into a dynamic, interactive learning space—a "history museum" of sorts. With visuals, artifacts, music, and themed décor, he creates a sense of "edutainment" where education meets entertainment.
