LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Sasha Bladen was nominated anonymously.

Ms. Bladen spends time creating strong relationships with her students, incorporating their interests into her lessons, and fostering a positive environment with high expectations. She teaches visual arts at a tiny 5-12 Title I school in rural Maine. Her students are most excited about ceramic arts units.

She teaches three levels of ceramics in high school and ensures that each of her middle school students completes at least one ceramics project every year. She spends a lot of her own money to keep her classroom stocked with glazes for her students' projects.

Ms. Bladen is a very accomplished educator, winning the Key Club Student Choice Teacher of the Month in June 2025. She has also been a two-time nominee for the Piscataquis County Teacher of the Year. In addition to her teaching, Ms. Bladen is also a yearbook advisor, a member of the Key Club, and head coach for the track and field team.
