Mr. Clay establishes working relationships first by getting to know students through feedback interviews. Once he learns how his student(s) learn, he can better assist them with concerns. Initially, it starts with positive communication, such as warm greetings at the door and/or recognizing when students are bothered with a personal issue. Mr. Clay is known for his ability to connect with students while maintaining boundaries. He understands where they come from and learns how to relate, teach, and, at times, use corrective discipline to build a positive classroom environment.
