Ms. Marin believes deeply in the power of teaching the whole child. She embraces a philosophy rooted in a well-known mantra, adapted to reflect what truly matters in her classroom:

If a child doesn't know how to read, we teach them. If a child doesn't know how to add, we teach them. And just as importantly, if a child doesn't know how to behave, we teach them. If they don't know how to regulate, we teach them. If they don't know how to connect socially, we teach them.

This belief guides every aspect of her teaching practice.

As a resource teacher, Ms. Marin works with students performing below grade level in various areas. Her goal is to create an environment that is safe, inclusive, encouraging, and free from shame. In her classroom, the word easy is avoided; what's easy for one learner may be a true challenge for another. Instead, Ms. Marin fosters a culture that celebrates effort, resilience, and growth.

She has poured her time, energy, love, and even personal funds into designing a space where students feel proud to learn. From calming colors and special lighting to fun, uplifting touches—like a neon sign that reads "Cool kids read books", every element of the room is designed to inspire confidence and joy. Empowering quotes, such as "I can do hard things," are displayed throughout the room as daily reminders that progress is more important than perfection.

Her classroom is more than a place to catch up academically; it's a nurturing space where students feel seen, supported, and excited to grow. Through her compassionate approach and unwavering belief in each child's potential, she creates an environment where learning and healing can truly happen.
