She has been a guiding light for so many new teachers, myself included—always patient, understanding, and genuinely invested in the success of everyone around her. From day one, she has made it a point to ensure that every new staff member feels seen, valued, and supported. I couldn’t think of any one more worthy for this recognition. A teacher's values encompass respect, responsibility, ethics, and a commitment to student success. Ms. Chaves not only excels in all these areas but helps her student beyond what the basic understanding of a curriculum, but nurtures the development of her students to become confident, strong, and respectful through their life journey.

Undeniably a dedicated person with a strong conviction to change lives, a woman dedicated to her community and her neighbors; she loves what she does and gives her all to change the lives of her students. She educates, cares for, and loves her students. Thanks to Grecia Chavez, many lives are being educated and, above all, transformed. An educator who loves serving every child who passes through her classroom.

Ms. Chavez is an inspiration to both her students and colleagues. She exhibits the best qualities of an educator. She has high expectations for the scholars in her class and works with each one to help them meet those expectations. I'm proud to call her a friend and teammate.
