As an assistant principal, Ms. Moore understands that one of the most impactful ways to support students is by cultivating a strong, positive school culture, beginning with the adults in the building. While teachers are key in shaping the climate of their classrooms, Ms. Moore embraces her unique role in influencing the overall tone and spirit of the entire school community. She believes that when teachers feel valued, connected, and motivated, that positivity naturally flows into their classrooms and ultimately benefits students.
Ms. Moore builds this culture intentionally through uplifting and engaging experiences for staff. Each week, she runs a "Motivational Mondays" contest that features lighthearted challenges designed to spark joy and help staff learn more about one another. During holidays, she organizes fun, community-building activities, such as a Halloween game where three teachers secretly carried paper pumpkins and others had to ask, "Is there a pumpkin in your pocket?" The day ended with laughter, connection, and small prizes that made a significant impact.
While these moments may seem small, Ms. Moore knows they contribute to a broader atmosphere of joy, trust, and unity. When teachers feel supported and energized, their classrooms become warmer and more engaging spaces, places where students thrive both academically and emotionally. Through her focus on culture, Ms. Moore creates a ripple effect that reaches far beyond one classroom, shaping a school environment where everyone feels empowered to grow and succeed.
